Excellent stay, great experience The room was clean and well stocked with needed amenitues. The bed was so comfortable, I wished I could take it home with me! The staff and service was excellent, the outside view with pool and sitting space was very pleasant. The food was prepared with care, and the selection was great. I would stay here again if planning to be in the area. The beach is only 7 miles away. There is a lot to see in the area.

Hotel at a Glance: Hotel Cabana Clearwater Beach

The Hotel Cabana Clearwater Beach first welcomed travelers in 1947, when it was known as the Coca Cabana. Seventy years, several name changes, and one recent renovation later, its mission remains the same: to be a comfy escape for vacationers enjoying Clearwater’s sun and surf. The hotel’s location makes it easy to do just that—it’s only one block from the beach.

  • Seaside style: Guest rooms are adorned with photos of beach scenes and furniture reminiscent of driftwood.
  • For the most space, choose a one-bedroom suite. Each one has a separate living area, plus a microwave and a fridge.
  • Sunshine and palm trees set the scene for swimming in the heated outdoor pool.
  • Award winner: Clearwater Beach was voted the No. 4 beach in the country in TripAdvisor’s 2017 Travelers’ Choice awards.
  • Within walking distance restaurants serving casual meals including pizza and seafood.

Clearwater, Florida: Seaside Spectacles and Family-Friendly Beaches

At Clearwater Beach’s Pier 60, every sunset is a cause for celebration. Buskers belt out tunes, circus performers breathe fire, and stilt walkers teeter along the beachfront as the sun dips below the Gulf of Mexico. It’s a testament to how integral the beach—a short drive across the Intracoastal Waterway—is to Clearwater’s culture.

In 2013, Clearwater was named the nation’s best beach town by readers of USA Today. Clearwater Marine Aquarium is home to one of the city’s biggest celebrities, Winter the dolphin, who starred in Dolphin Tale alongside Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd. You can stroll the city’s Dolphin Trail to see more than 100 whimsical statues of bottlenose dolphins. Or take the 30-minute drive to Caladesi Island State Park, where you can fish or kayak near 3-mile trails that wind through mangroves and bays.

Also a 30-minute drive away is downtown Saint Petersburg, which is full of upscale dining and shopping venues. Head to laid-back Pass-A-Grille to find an outdoor art market, boutiques, and an ice-cream shop right on the seashore.

Cute hotel on Northside of the Beach This is a cute hotel on the north end of the beach. There is a quiet family/dog beach right across the street with easy access. Short walk from restaurants and bars. We didn't drive, but I understand parking can be challenging without getting a ticket. The only thing I would change about this hotel is to put microwaves in the rooms and CLEAN that pool. The white liner around the pool is black with mold. However, the outside area is wonderful with plenty of seating and the lights at night create a really cozy place to sit and talk with family/friends.

Not the best place hard to park car. The hotel is not like a normal hotel where you have a front desk all online. Parking is a problem unless you get a pass from the hotel to park at the front of the hotel which you normally pay to park, if you find a place. All rooms are accessed via a pin number which is emailed to you or texted to you. The rooms are short of seating area also plugs or charging points for phones. The bathroom was the smallest I have been in that includes a cruise ship, the sink is for a toilet not a bathroom so small. The air-conditioning was noisy lucky they fitted a celling fan which meant you could turn it off at night and just use the fan. The area the hotel is a long way from the centre walking through not the best looking area. The pool area is not the best very small. It looks as if the area is slowly being demolished to upgrade the area.

Just ok, not worth the $! Pros: - Unit was quite clean. - Location was a block from the beach and about one mile from Pier 60. - Quiet. Cons: - Grounds could have been nicer/cleaner. Pool was always kind of dirty. - Coffee they advertise was cold or often out. - No hot water in kitchen. - No Roku or streaming services. - Beach chairs are rarely available. For price, would stay somewhere else. Agree with other reviews that they spent the money on the marketing.

This is an oasis, loved it! The Cabana title is definitely the vibe! We stayed at the one on Mandalay with the lush tropical courtyard, pool and cabana-like seating area. Beautiful, peaceful, and just a block from the peaceful, much less populous portion of north Clearwater. If you don’t like crowded beaches, overpriced lodging, and you still want to feel pampered…. This is the perfect spot. It was walking distance from a few nice beachfront restaurants (Palm Pavilion recommended!) and moments drive from shopping area and pier. The admin staff were very accommodating and friendly. The housekeepers beat any we have ever encountered!!! They helped us a bunch. It is smoke free, and of course smokers ignored that and dampened our stay…. However the motel got right on it, and smokers beware…. You will be caught and fined. Yay. Pool was not too cold, cleaned often. Laundry services, ice and community microwave. We picked a small room, but it was fine and had a pool view. Thanks guys for a beautiful vacay!
