Pleasant and clean. Sam was very pleasant. The rooms were clean. Did ask for coffee in the room twice, and never got any. Also, switched rooms and forgot charger. Asked about it twice but never received it back.

Modern accommodation with a prick of ancient style Staying at Fiona Hotel is like a step back to the past when the former 4-storey Victorian style boarding house for free thinkers, artists and literats has now turned into a well-maintained restored building in the vibrant SoMa district of San Francisco. What remains of those years when Fiona Harrington a former Irish descendant used to offer the place for 'outcasts in thinking' in the 19th Century, is the welcoming atmosphere which you still easily breath. I had an amazing 5-night stay in an executive double room facing a little, quainted alley aside the main entrance of the building where natural sun rays at dusk filtered the light purple curtains of my bow window. Anything is clearly well set at this hotel: from the match of colours to the setting of the furniture and anything works perfectly in harmony and style. A comfortable king size bed with dark green header goes well to the tangerine Moroccan style armchair and the glazed mirror up to the recreated fireplace atmosphere which gives a sense of a house after long hours of visiting than just a mere room to spend the night. Bed and bath linen is top notched quality. Even though the hotel does not feature a real entrance hall nor a sitting place to enjoy the breakfast which is offered in the morning the staff make you feel welcome and allow your questions with positive reaction. I tried the pool at the sister hotel SoMa House just crossing the road in bathrobe – it's funny isn’t it? – and there you will be given plenty of bath towel and sunbeds to relax. And there is also a little but fitted gym. I did not use the inner valet parking as I found lots nearby with so little difficulty. Maybe I was lucky those days...no clue. Th owner of Fiona Hotel runs several other pieces of accommodation scattered in all San Francisco throughout but I think I have stayed at the best one and for sure with the best staff ever. I bet I will forget the name of some of the smiling people I used to talk at time of going out or getting back but great thanks to Arnel, Erika, Sam, Renzo and anyone of the staff who made me and my stay so unforgettable.
