Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco: Fresh Seafood and Family-Friendly Fun

Once ground zero for San Francisco's fishing industry, Fisherman's Wharf has blossomed into one of the city's top tourism destinations. Things to do in the waterfront neighborhood range from boutique shopping and gourmet dining at Ghirardelli Square to family-friendly museums, street performances, and seafood restaurants on Pier 39. You can watch a colony of sea lions lounging by the bay, or play vintage pinball machines and penny arcade games at the Musée Mécanique.

Though only a few dozen fishing boats dock here nowadays, there are still plenty of places to sample the wharf's famous dungeness crab. To learn more about the area's history, head to the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park, where you can see old schooners, tugboats, and other nautical artifacts. Ferries make it easy to get to other nearby attractions, including the infamous Alcatraz Island prison.

Perfect place This is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The room Was exceptionally clean. The staff at the front desk was so nice and helpful. I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone coming to San Fransisco. The only bad think I can think of is there are no vending machines and they don't sell anything at the front so if you want a midnight snack you have to leave.

Dismal Depressing is the only word I have for the Hotel Zepher and its staff. You can only do so much with your physical location, but the staff at this “trying to be boutique “ hotel only made it more dismal. Awful service all around. One of the two lobby elevators was not is service throughout my entire stay. Upon checking into my room, well second room, had to get another room at the first one they put me in was directly across the elevator and “vending” vending is just a loud ice machine without bags available, so do not forget you bucket as they will only supply one bag. They will pretty much supply the bare minimum, every soap, shampoo and body wash dispenser was totally empty..upon checking in the room. No Kleenex, no hand soap and no concern from the front desk when this is brought to their attention. They put me in the total worst possible location at check in (elevator binging, ice machine noise) then put me in a room without anything but towels. Even the remote for the tv was out of batteries. The front desk acted like eye rolling pissed off teens from check in to check out. The staff seems to be annoyed by having guests in this 300$ a night crap hole. Oh and the room. For over 300$ a night, you get a less than great bed with a nightstand clock/charging station only on ONE side of the bed. No, no sense having that necessity on both sides, cram the ugly room up with a pointless armoire on the other side of the bed. If you could make a worse set up for a mini fridge I don’t know of it. You have to open one useless door to open the mini fridge whose door opens the other way. Fridge so flimsy and ill fitting a bottle of wine in the fridge broke just trying to close the 2 separate doors required. Dismal, depressing and demeaning. That is the Zepher

Crappy The bath amenities were empty Only one elevator worked Our first assigned room was on 3rd floor, view of parking garage ramp, no balcony, next to the elevator. The place is a very expensive dump. Who needs fire pits if the elevator doesn’t work!?
