Still one of the best places in the Florida Keys! We stayed in the newer oceanfront hotel rooms. The views and walk out beach access from the first floor level was lovely and so convenient. The service from EVERYONE from arrival to departure was a solid 10. The food service from Atlantic Edge was a bit slow, but hey, we are in the Keys, right? :-) Reaching room service by phone nearly always a challenge. But after placing our order, the tray arrived promptly, as ordered. And our server was delightful. I definitely recommend based on my experience and will return!

Nice lodging, horrible service The wait staff in the restaurant and bar provided some of the worst service in a very long time. If I ever stay at Cheeca again I will not patronize the restaurants or bar. And I will not recommend Cheeca to others for that reason.

We had to leave to search for other accommodations. We arrived at the Cheeca Lodge during a rare cold snap in the Keys. Our room was 55 degrees on arrival, and to our dismay, had no heat. No heating equipment at all. This is a violation of Florida law, which requires proper heating in hotel rooms. As a lifelong Florida resident, I realize how rare it is to complain about a hotel room being too cold. But our room became so cold that it was not habitable. There was no attempt by management to provide alternative accommodations (we were told that many rooms did not have heat), and the blankets provided were thin and smelly. We had to leave the hotel at 7 pm and find other accommodations. So disappointing.

Sinking Ship? I don’t know where to start. Clearly this place is no longer being maintained. Our toilet was crooked in the bathroom, with the clear delineation of the previous toilets location on the floor. Gross. The bolts were exposed and unsecured. The elevator is out of order. The garbage disposal was not working and the kitchenette sink wouldn’t drain. The refrigerator is rusted. Oh. And insult to injury. Apparently there was a wedding event at the resort (no notice to the other paying clients whatsoever) and the music was ridiculously loud for a tiny sad little number of 10 drunk people dancing. We have been coming here for the past 4 or 5 years and unfortunately this will be the last. For the price, you deserve better.

Cheeca Lodge Review Feb 2026 After a negative experience with third-party Bookers (expedia/reservationdesk), not even sure which one.. and wasn't sure at the time who they were ..but they were deceptive), I was thrilled with my interactions with everybody at Cheeca Lodge itself including the manager who spoke with me on the phone, helped me change my date, retrieve my money from the Third party, and my stay itself was fantastic. I'm really perplexed as to how anybody could give this place anything but a five-star review. No I'm not affiliated with the place and I've never been here before, but I will be returning as soon as I can. From the lush landscaping to the beautiful pathways that are lit up with torches at night to the Waterfront to the staff, to the restaurants, and especially the roosters!, to the beautiful room layout, everything was top notch, I luvvv this lodge!!
