Cape Cod, Massachusetts: Historic Towns and Miles of Protected Beaches

In the late 19th century, Cape Cod blossomed into a summer vacation destination as visitors swapped crowded coastal cities for the sandy shores of eastern Massachusetts. Today, the arm-shaped peninsula, located 60 miles south of Boston, encompasses 15 idyllic towns, rolling dunes, and 300 miles of sandy shoreline—and it’s still the place where many East Coasters choose to spend their leisurely summer days. Popular attractions include fresh-seafood restaurants, quaint stores, and bicycle trails, such as the 11-mile Shining Sea Bikeway that wends from North Falmouth to Woods Hole.

On the uppermost tip of the Cape, the free-spirited art colony of Provincetown attracts visitors year-round. This is one of the best places to head for a vibrant nightlife scene—there are cabarets, bars, and lounges aplenty. Pop into the Provincetown Art Association and Museum to check out local artwork, both historical and contemporary.

I like the place is in the center, you can just walk to places. A lot of restaurants, ice cream and coffee shops. The pool is Okay, kids enjoyed it. They charge you more then 400 bucks for incidental which I found to much, since not even 5 stars charge that, good thing is refundable and did not have any incident. They don't offer breakfast at lest no now, but again there is ihope and more.

Comfortable enough - would do this again Relatively large room. Slept well. Seemed like an older property which has been cobbled together into a large 2-story U-shaped hotel complex. Bummed that there were no elevators. The night we arrived, there were some strange people wandering around the parking lot; not sure if they were other guests or what, but none of them approached or bothered us. Two surprises on arrival: an $8.50 "resort fee" I had to pay onsite and hadn't expected (but I went back and found it was in the fine print and the total was still what I expected), and a busful of senior citizens that kind of temporarily took over the entrance of the building. In the morning, we were greeted by the sound of gulls of other shorebirds outside, but guess that's part of the Cape Cod charm. We picked this place for our first night at Cape Cod because our plane to Boston arrived relatively late and this hotel has 24/7 desk service - that worked out well

Bad experience ! Unclean sleeping quarters. I went there on a holiday weekend and never stayed in the room. The hotel is on Main St. so we dropped off our luggage and began to enjoy a full day. Around 8pm we came to the hotel to experience the hot tub. Everything went well until it was bed time. Around 9 o' clock, I pulled out the living room couch and the mattress had dried blood on it !! It could have been period blood ! who knows ? The Master bedroom under the mattress had a theatrical mask and a left over bottle of lubricant. Really ? Nobody changed the bed ? I took pictures and brought the hotel host to confirm. He looked embarrassed and ashamed. I immediately went to the front desk and checked out. They told me they would take off the security deposit and I would have to talk to management on after the holiday. Management finally called on Tuesday but could only give me half. It was $ 272.00 for one night. She asked me, " Could you tell me when you discovered the blood and the bedroom scene." Obviously I discovered it when it was bedtime. In other words , should I have checked the room for cleanliness of the room and bed before I accept it ? She called me back Wednesday and said that corporate only approved for half and that it was out of her hands. I reached out after I talked with people and the front desk clerk was very rude and even put himself in management position and said, " Sir , you will not get your money back. " He also said, " Go ahead and post your complaint ! '. Talking about being unprofessional ?! I was told that I should go to small claims. I am really contemplating that. Any suggestions please post your experience and recommendation.
