Bethesda, Maryland: Affluent Enclave Neighboring DC

Bethesda has some of the cosmopolitan flavor of DC, but feels decidedly quieter. There are a dozen or so art galleries in the downtown area and more than 200 restaurants representing cuisines from around the world. One of the many historic highlights worth a visit is the Round House Theatre, a restored 1930s art-deco movie theater. Today it showcases a variety of live entertainment acts ranging from children's shows to off-Broadway plays and musicals.

You Won't Be Disappointed! Although I’ve stayed at this Hyatt before, this experience surpassed all of my previous Hyatt stays. Everything was outstanding, but here are a few highlights: Exceptional Staff Responsiveness The attentiveness of the staff was remarkable. For example, I requested a package delivery, and Ana was at my door almost before I hung up the phone. I also asked for a microwave, and within 10 minutes, a young lady from housekeeping arrived with one. Every interaction I had made me feel like my needs were a top priority. Genuine Hyatt Membership Appreciation At many properties, recognition for membership feels limited to a “thank you” and two water bottles—which is nice, but minimal. This property went far beyond that. The breakfast options provided made me feel truly valued as a Hyatt member. I’ve never felt such appreciation for my loyalty before. Impeccable Cleanliness I never walk around hotel rooms barefoot—especially not in the bathroom. However, the room here was so spotless that I felt completely comfortable doing both. The level of cleanliness gave me peace of mind and added to the overall comfort of my stay.

Convenience is this hotel’s calling card First stay in Bethesda, and really appreciated the easy walk to plenty of food & shopping, with the metro and bus transfer station a minute walk to get you everywhere else. Hotel has lots of lobby seating areas, friendly valet / bell staff. Check in was efficient, but $300 room hold wasn’t explained upfront, although front desk was helpful during stay. Room was remodeled, but bathroom was dark. Bed was comfortable, sofa was so-so. Appreciated coffee / tea in room, and daily housekeeping to make bed and refresh linens. Would stay again, but will also try other hotels in the area.
