Buffalo, New York: Chicken-Wing Capital with Rich Railroad History

Buffalo is the second-largest city in New York, but it’s second to none when it comes to its namesake buffalo wings. Though the pioneering restaurant’s identity is subject to debate, there’s no doubt about Buffalo’s status as the capital of wingdom. To sample the city’s most famous export, head to the Anchor Bar or Duff’s Famous Wings.

Buffalo was once one of the biggest railroad hubs in the country and has several museums dedicated to celebrating those glory days. Visit the Iron Island Museum to get a feel for how the railroad shaped the city. History buffs will also want to check out the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, also known as the Buffalo History Museum. Housed in a neoclassical building along Scajaquada Creek, it has exhibits on the War of 1812, the Erie Canal, and the Pan-American Exposition held on the museum grounds in 1901.

SCAM HOTEL WITH RUDE MANAGER AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS. This hotel is a SCAM. I don’t know how they are being able to be under the hyatt chain. I got charged TWICE for my stay and still have not gotten refund back. They charged me once for 646 dollars when I was there. After I checked out, they managed to charge my card for another 572 dollars. I have called to inquire about this charge as this is really unusual to be charging an unknown amount to customer after check out. They said they will release the fund back but till this day I have not gotten my money back. And the hotel manager (bald white guy) is EXTREMELY RUDE. I don’t know how hyatt trained their employees to be this rude to customers.

Very rude Don’t stay at this hotel! Lobby bar drinks were charged to my room. When I called the front desk about these charges, the front desk employee accused me of lying about buying drinks and then implied that my brother had charged drinks to my room. Would not remove the charge and was EXTREMELY rude. Will never book at a Hyatt again.

Excellent customer service, clean room, ideal location. The location was perfect for my trip. The staff was very welcoming and the hotel was clean and quiet. There is a Starbucks in house.
