Santa Rosa: Gateway to Sonoma's Storied Vines and Scenic Heritage

Nestled in the heart of Sonoma County, Santa Rosa is more than just a charming Northern California town—it is the cultural and historical soul of Wine Country. Once home to the Pomo people and later a central outpost during California’s early settlement, Santa Rosa bears the imprint of history on every street corner, from its preserved Victorian architecture to the legacy of famed horticulturist Luther Burbank. The city blends a pastoral elegance with a deep-rooted sense of place, surrounded by rolling vineyards, ancient redwoods, and the enduring beauty of the Russian River Valley.

Yet Santa Rosa is far from a relic—it’s a vibrant hub where heritage meets innovation. Visitors can explore the engaging museums and art galleries downtown, stroll through the historic Railroad Square, or sip world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay straight from the barrel in surrounding estate wineries. With the rugged Pacific coast just a short drive away and the scenic charm of neighboring towns like Healdsburg and Sebastopol within easy reach, Santa Rosa stands as both a destination in its own right and a gateway to the diverse splendors of Northern California’s famed wine region.

Superb Service! This was my first experience in Santa Rosa. While staying at the hotel, my coworkers and I were fortunate to come across two outstanding Hyatt employees. I’d like to extend the deepest gratitude to Luis from the engineering department who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. I experienced air conditioning troubles in my room and Luis made every effort to fix it. After several efforts to repair the A/C, he was able to assist in relocation. My new room was beautiful and luckily everything was working perfectly. He checked in to ensure all was well. I’d also like to thank Miriam the bartender / cafe worker who was additionally hosting our company luncheon for her great service. She was kind and friendly. These employees made our stay at the Hyatt truly memorable. They also had great suggestions for site seeing in the city. Thank you Luis and Miriam, Celeste

Amazing Staff Mirian (bartender) and Luis (engineering) I have been having a great time at the hotel and have met amazing staff that took care of me and my friends during a work conference event at the hotel. Luis from engineering went above and beyond beyond trying to fix an ac issue in my friends room and Mirian Pureco who was a bartender Monday evening has been very helpful, kind, and has shared great tips, as well as Luis, on places to explore in the town. Great people

Every staff member was rude Our suite room that we occupied on Thursday was never serviced. On Friday we returned to our room at 3PM and Saturday around 2PM. On Friday we were told rooms are not serviced everyday. I checked with over a dozen friends who check in Thursday, all their rooms were serviced on Friday and Saturday. So the everyday excuse was isolated to me. On top of that the rudeness of your staff was totally unacceptable. For example, one of your members told me, they can only submit a service request to housekeeping and have no way to make sure the service is provided. Is the housekeeping and front desk not working for the same hotel. There were so many instances when the staff was rude, rude, rude.,

Great service from Elena & Adara! Elena & Adara at the front desk are incredibly nice, extremely friendly, funny, and very helpful!  They made us feel very welcomed and happy to be staying there for our work trip. They both went above & beyond to ensure we were happy throughout our stay.  Every interaction was warm and welcoming.  They helped with our check-in, coordinated our parking & gave lots of great recommendations including to enjoy the Beer Baron where we had a wonderful meal. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return & spend more time at this lovely establishment that is staffed by incredible people.  Thank you very much for all your help, Elena & Adara! Great customer service! When I arrived, I spoke to a front desk attendant to check in. Director of front desk Jane Ratanapol, who was standing nearby, heard that I had requested the same corner room from my last visit. However, it was not available since it was an upgraded room that is not typically included with my Hyatt free night award that I was using for my stay. Nevertheless, she offered me a similar upgraded room adjacent to the corner room that I had requested. My wife and I were thrilled and appreciative for Jane's help. Everything was perfect until my wife and I noticed a recessed lamp detached and hanging from the bathroom ceiling (I did hear an unusual loud thump while I was standing below it that may have shook it loose, but I did not think of looking up at the time); malfunctioned heater that did not heat up; and a backed up shower drain. When I reported these problems to the front desk, I spoke with Jane who was sincerely apologetic for the situation and graciously offered to move us to another room, give us extra blankets, and/or have maintenance come clear the drain. But, I declined all these offers because my wife and I had already settled in and she was in bed by the time we confirmed and reported these problems. Although we were inconvenienced, Jane made our stay still enjoyable as she listened and addressed our concerns as well as credited us for our inconvenience.
