Q:

Is there mass transit from Amtrak in Boston to your town?

bob g.  asked on  Aug 26, 2013

A:

That's a little bit complicated but I will do my best here: The MBTA commuter rail purple line to Newburyport/Rockport (you take the Rockport arm of it) comes up to the area. The closest stop, about 3 miles away, is actually in the next town over (which is also closer to Boston), Manchester-by-the-Sea, but there is no public transport from them to here except taxis. Still, I recommend this as the easiest way to get here. There are "CATA" buses from the Gloucester central stop, but you have to change lines, and the second bus line, the one that comes to Magnolia, doesn't run very often. Here is a link to the MBTA commuter rail schedule for the Newburyport/ Rockport line: http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/rail/lines/?route=NBRYROCK Here is a link to the CATA bus map and schedules. The Magnolia bus is one of the yellow lines. http://www.canntran.com/ I hope this is helpful. You can always phone us if you want more detailed instructions. 978-525-3642

We are expected to arrive around 10-11PM on Friday, will the late checkout be possible yet?

Check-in time is 3-6pm, and check-out time is 11am. If you need to come at a different time or leave later than 11am, please contact us at the inn directly to make sure that other arrangements can be accommodated. Thanks.

Q:

It doesn't appear that the Inn is on the water; how far is the waterfront, and the downtown area??

John C.  asked on  Aug 22, 2013

A:

We are two blocks from a private beach (to which we have passes). You can get additional information about the inn and location at our website, www.InnMagnolia.com

A:

Sorry, I forgot to answer the second part of the question -- downtown Gloucester is 3-1/2 miles north of us, and Manchester-by-the-Sea is 3 miles south.

Q:

You are playing a little fast and loose with the advertising aren't you?I count 4 nights available at the advertised price out of 3 months.Wouldn't stay now.False advertising.

cm j.  asked on  Aug 21, 2013

A:

That is not the case. Out of 225 room/nights offered over a two month period, 136 are offered at the $89 rate. It is not possible for you to determine this with the data that you have because a) on some nights there are 5 rooms offered at that rate, on others only 1, but all you can tell is whether there is at least one available, and b) many of the room/nights offered have already been taken, so they no longer appear in the availability chart. It is fine if you don't want to stay tho', that is certainly your prerogative.

Q:

Why does it say in spot $89 and when I selected a date it said $95. and is the price the same if I say 3 nights

Juanita C.  asked on  Aug 21, 2013

A:

The offer price is "FROM $89" -- meaning it starts at $89 and goes up. There are different prices for different nights. If you roll your cursor over the dates you're interested in, it will show you what the price is for each night.

Q:

Can I buy two groupons? We are five people including my 2 year old son. I read there is a maximum of 4 people per room. That is why I need to buy two groupons but i dont see if I am allow or not. Thanks!!!!

catherine m.  asked on  Aug 20, 2013

A:

As far as we (the merchant) are concerned you can buy as many as you want. I don't believe Groupon has put any limitations on the number but you might have to ask them.
