Horrible! The hotel did not have our reservation and I was messaging Groupon for hours and then attempts to get the situation resolved. I was told by Groupon that I’d be receiving a email with the information. The hotel needed. I have yet to receive this email. It’s been over two weeks.

Greater San Antonio: Riverwalk and Amusement Parks

San Antonio draws upward of 20 million visitors each year. Most come to see the Alamo and to stroll along the city’s 15-mile riverwalk. The downtown segment of the walk is by far the liveliest; its winding stone pathways lead to restaurants and cantinas, public art installations, and the massive Rivercenter Mall.

The Museum and Mission Reach extensions of the riverwalk—added more recently—connect you to the San Antonio Museum of Art and the city’s historic Spanish colonial missions, respectively. Families might want to venture beyond downtown to SeaWorld San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, both located on the outskirts of the city.

SA Intercontinental Everything about our stay was perfect for my families first TX visit. Location, valet, staff, bar, and breakfast restaurant were all excellent.

Average Hotel with the InterContinental name. So I will start off saying I am an InterContinental Ambassador and I love InterContinental hotels. I know this is a new hotel and I wanted to do an thorough review. Pool 5/5 This pool is huge and clean and nice. I frequent the river walk and I can say this is one of the top 5 pools easy. Location 5/5 This location is very nice and you can hit up the river walk easily from this hotel. Room 3/5 I booked a basic room but it was dirty. Looked like it hadn't been swept In about a week. Being an InterContinental this was very much below the mark. The room itself was a nice size. Beware though the shower floor is super slippery when wet. Fitness Center 3/5 The fitness center is just basic honestly. Based on other hotels on the river walk. If the fitness center is your main focus you would be dissappointed. Cavalier 5/5 I had breakfast and dinner here. I can say the food was some of the best I've had at an hotel. You should make a stop here it's worth it. during my stay it seemed lot's of management continued to ask me if everything was going ok and if I needed anything while we dined here. Deco Lobby Bar 4/5 This bar is amazing the service was pretty good. My only negative was them allowing a couple to take pictures proffesionally at the bar and the flash was irritating for a couple of us sitting at the bar. It was their anniversary so I get it. But celebration should not impede other guest experience. Rosebelly Cafe 1/5 The coffee from here was amazing. But the service was the worst experience I have ever had. Natasha G. really needs an attitude adjustment. I've never met an employee so rude at an InterContinental. You can tell she didn't want to be there but she shouldn't treat guest in a rude manner. Value for Price 3/5 For me I frequent InterContinental hotels and amenity fees are nothing new to me I don't mind them at all. But the price of the hotel plus that fee for the average hotel guest I could see as an issue. I did a search for May of next year vs another very nice hotel. That hotel was 40% less and it's a full service hotel and the staff interactions were way nicer. Final Thoughts- I think this hotel has a lot of promise. It's very nice and most of the staff is nice. The food is very good. My suggestion would be prioritize making sure rooms are clean and the price point. Most guest don't mind paying a premium price. But if you have the InterContinental name the luxury delivery needs to be delivered also. I plan on trying to visit this hotel again next year to see if they have improved.

Beautiful Hotel - Ok Experience This a beautiful and clean hotel. We had great interactions with the servers in the restaurant and the bartenders were very kind and welcoming. Check-in was average and somewhat disappointing. We are Diamond Elite members and travel extensively for work and leisure. I suppose this review is a bit influenced by the exceptional stays we have recently enjoyed at the Kimpton Aertson Nashville, Kimpton Tryon, Charlotte, Intercontinental in Indianapolis, and Iberostar Joia Resorts. We have been very spoiled by the phenomenal service and care we regularly receive at IHG hotels and Resorts. We are regularly upgraded to one bedroom suites and almost never have to request anything during our stay. Our room was a King with river view and was extremely small (around 300 ish square ft.) We ran out of paper products on day two, our towels were not replaced, and dirty glasses were left in our room. We were accidentally checked out of our room on day three. To be fair, the young lady who did this apologized profusely. This was not a bad stay, just not to the level of service we are used to with IHG.
