The place was beautiful! The suite was amazing! It had 2 bathrooms so we were able to be to dinner on time. The staff was excellent. For some reason my reservation was not transferred over to their system. All I had was confirmation that the room had been purchased. Charles, the manager, did not stop until he found my reservation. I will be going back from now on.

Older but has charm and nice and peaceful a bit older but nice. Room was very large and the hotel was very quiet. This is more in the financial district so not "in the action" if you will but all of that mess is nearby, you can walk just about anywhere. I liked that there were not gobs of tourists around and I wasn't harassed (as I was when walking solo in the f q) . The restaurant - not sure about that - but the hotel was great will go back

Within the Brand Standard hidden USB ports It’s an Intercontinental with the level of staff & service one expects from this brand. The lobby is not huge but it’s serviceable. It’s a bit older & the lobby was smaller than some other properties but it’s a city hotel. There are 4 elevators that require your room key to operate. Sometimes the elevators needed this safety feature on the way down which was kind of annoying. Being a loyalty member who was staying with an even higher level loyalty member I was thrilled to be allowed to check in at 7 a.m. as I was still half asleep from schlepping to the airport at 3 a.m. that morning. Our room was a bit dark with the sun being blocked by the building across the alley. The balcony was nice. We could look down on a space which I gathered was where you could have a cocktail party before your event in the ballroom. One morning I was outside & could hear everything others were saying on another balcony although I couldn’t see them. They were speaking in normal tones not realizing how much sound carries. Back in my room with the door shut their voices didn’t penetrate the glass Even on the 6th floor with the door closed we did hear a Second Line band pass by one morning but the music was short lived until they were out of range & we never saw them. The rooftop pool was refreshing. It was nice to jump in after a hot sweaty day in the Big Easy. It’s not huge. You aren’t going to swim laps. There are a few chairs but not many. It would be nice if they put a container of ice water up there for the guests to drink. The attached gym has a few pieces of equipment if for some reason you didn’t get enough exercise walking all over the city. My biggest “complaint” was that I never found the USB ports until the last day. I was annoyed because I forgot the base to the phone charger. There were no visible outlets that had been upgraded to include a USB port. Many hotels have them in the lamp stands. There was a silver circle embedded in the desk. I didn’t realize it had a handle that could be lifted up so the whole cylinder could be pulled up & that is where the USB ports were. I plugged my phone into the back of TV but that solution only offered power slowly & when the TV was on. I had asked about a port at the desk but they offered me a base. I find it odd that the front desk didn’t know about cylinder on the desk either. We did have to evacuate the building during our stay. The process to go down the stairs was relatively smooth. I wish they had disclosed what the problem was that caused the alarm to sound. I don’t think it was a scheduled drill but it may have been. Staff seemed stressed but I never saw any emergency responders like police or fire & rescue. We were able to walk several blocks into the French Quarter. Others may want to take a car. There were plenty of taxis outside and a trolley stop across the street. Onsite underground parking is expensive about $50 per day. About 2 bocks over the other way are all the Court houses. There's a French Truck coffee shop on the corner. There were some other places to get breakfast up the street if you don't want to pay hotel prices. There was a convenience store across the street but it was never open when we were there. The area was never busy with pedestrians & felt deserted at night There was a conference going on in the hotel the day we arrived & at least one large family reunion. The later would often sit around the lobby taking all the seats in their match t-shirts. Otherwise, the hotel did not seem overly crowded.

Perfect Location, Perfect Stay Entire Stay was perfect! Spent 6 nights there with my family which includes 3 young kids. We were able to get rooms that comfortably slept all of us including a crib for the baby. When we arrived Sunday we were all exhausted and ended up eating at the on-property restaurant which was a great introduction to New Orleans cuisine. It was all great but definitely try the crawfish hush puppies! Location was perfect as it was far enough away from the main action to be quiet and no noise issues at night but close enough that it was a short (5 min) walk to Canal and Bourbon streets. You can also grab the Green Line street car from directly across the hotel and take a wonderful ride around town, through the Garden District, or right through the local colleges. Have a kid that goes to one of those schools? This is the easiest place to stay to enjoy the city and visit them on campus. It's also a short walk to the Red Line. Furthermore, only have to walk 4 blocks to get to Caesars Casino. We rented a car due to my elderly parent with us, but if you don't mind a little walking there is no part of the French Quarter you can't easily get to by foot. The epitome of perfect location. Staff was extremely friendly throughout the stay. Rooms were kept clean and neat. Concierge is there to help book tours and answer questions. Convenient 24/7 grab and go along with a coffee stand in the morning which we ended up getting fruit from several times for the baby in the mornings. The kids loved the pool on the roof and there is a good sized gym with modern equipment. The family loved the trip and is already talking about their next trip to New Orleans and I already know where we will be staying when we go.
