Kimpton Palladian Hotel Pride 2025 I stayed at Kimpton Palladian Hotel during Seattle Pride Weekend 2025, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, and the location couldn’t have been better — just a short walk to Pike Place Market and other great attractions in the area. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I felt genuinely safe, seen, and welcomed, which made the weekend all the more special. One of the highlights was the Pride event hosted in the bar on Sunday — it was such a fun and inclusive celebration, and a great way to wrap up the weekend. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seattle, especially during Pride. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!

Seattle, WA: Maritime Legacy Meets Modern Innovation

Seattle, perched between the Puget Sound and Lake Washington, is a city shaped as much by its natural surroundings as by its pioneering spirit. Once a booming timber town and the gateway to Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush, Seattle rose to global prominence with its deep-water port, rich shipbuilding heritage, and connection to Pacific trade routes. Its iconic skyline, crowned by the Space Needle, speaks to a proud past of ambition—born from the 1962 World’s Fair—and a future forever anchored in innovation. Historic neighborhoods like Pioneer Square retain the city’s 19th-century character, while Pike Place Market continues its legacy as one of America’s oldest and most beloved farmers markets.

Today, Seattle thrives as a nexus of culture, commerce, and creativity. Home to global titans like Amazon and Microsoft, the city pulses with a tech-forward energy that coexists with a love for the outdoors, evidenced by its countless green spaces and mountain views. The vibrant districts of Belltown, Capitol Hill, and Ballard offer culinary artistry, indie music, and nightlife layered over historic architecture and maritime charm. Whether you’re wandering the waterfront, exploring the Museum of Pop Culture, or sipping small-batch coffee in a neighborhood café, Seattle offers a dynamic and distinctly Northwestern experience—rooted in history and driven by discovery.

Overcharged at Kimpton Palliadian Hotel Seattle I reserved one night at Kimpton Palladian Hotel in downtown Seattle through a website that is a clearinghouse for hotel reservations made on short notice. My understanding from the Kimpton’s listing on that website was that breakfast was included in my reservation. An included breakfast was a key criteria in my search on the website, because I was arriving late at night from the airport, to move the next morning into my new residence in Seattle (a cross-country move from NYC), and I had an early morning transit to catch to meet my moving company at my new home. While checking in, I asked at the front desk about the opening time of breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and I was told 7am. The next morning, I came down to the lobby at 6:55am. I then noticed a restaurant visible through a glass wall, alongside some stairs leading down. The restaurant was on a lower mezzanine type of level. I walked down the stairs, seeing the empty restaurant through the glass, but could no my find any entrance to it, nor any sign directing me toward an entrance. I wound up in the basement. I walked around the basement level and found no restaurant entrance nor any related signs in the basement. I then returned to the lobby level and asked at the front desk how to enter the restaurant for breakfast. The woman at the front desk responded, not with an answer to my question, but by saying, “Breakfast opens at 7am.” I looked at my phone. It was 6:58. I asked, “May I please enter the restaurant a minute or two early and get my breakfast when breakfast begins?” “No,” she said. “Wow, this is certainly different from New York,” I said. I was referring to how most premium hotels in NYC do their utmost to support guests who have early morning meetings. It’s a point of pride for hotels in NYC and in many cities. “You can have a coffee right over there while you wait,” she offered to me, pointing to a coffee station near the desk. I patiently thanked her and served myself one coffee. My understanding is that coffee would have been included in my breakfast that was included in the fee I had already paid to reserve the room. I then joined a small line of hotel guests that was forming on the stairs, literally on the stairs. We were all looking longingly through the glass at the empty restaurant. Still I saw no staff in the restaurant, and zero activity. None of us guests could find the restaurant entrance, and we discussed that among ourselves. Then another guest approached the front desk and asked the same exact questions as me. The woman at the front desk then came out from behind her desk, walked past us standing in line and down the first flight of stairs to the stair landing, next to the floor-to-ceiling glass wall of the so-far inaccessible restaurant. The glass wall had thin wooden slats running vertically from floor to ceiling, in front of the glass, sort of prison-like. The front desk receptionist pushed on the wooden slats, and that’s when we guests all realized it was basically a sliding gate entrance. No signs whatsoever indicated to guests that the glass wall covered with vertical wooden bars was in fact the restaurant entrance. The receptionist went inside the restaurant. She came out a few minutes later and announced, in the following exact words, “The restaurant is understaffed. It’s going to be a while.” I was already running late after this nonsense! I then had to run with my suitcases down the street, hunting for a cafe. I found a virtually empty cafe that turned out to be surprisingly slow. Due to these delays, all caused in the first place by the Kimpton Palladian Hotel’s failure to staff and open their restaurant to provide the included breakfast, I could not make my transit connection on time without calling an Uber taxi. So I was forced to incur not only the additional expense of buying a second breakfast but also now a taxi ride, around $10 each. The next morning, to my surprise, I received an emailed receipt from the hotel showing that they had charged my credit card — after I checked out and departed the premises — an unexpected $27 “fee” plus taxes on the fee! I called the hotel front desk immediately (at 4am on July 15, 2025) and spoke to the gentleman working there. I explained all of the above very kindly, and asked him to please refund the fee, saying, “I’m guessing this fee may be for a breakfast which I thought was included and which I never received.” The man refused to refund the unexpected charges to my credit card. He said, “That is not for breakfast. That is an amenity fee for the gym, the coffee in the lobby, and things like that.” I never consented to any additional “amenities fee,” nor was I ever informed to expect one. “I guess I had a $27 coffee,” I told the guy. He made no reply, and I hung up. Due to the hotel’s failure to provide a breakfast during the hours they published to me as a guest, and their unexpected undisclosed fee for “amenities,” and related taxes, I was forced to incur additional costs totaling about $50. I note that my preferred credit card for this purpose was my AmEx, which I handed over at check-in as requested for a deposit. But the hotel front desk staff said they were unable to read / process my AmEx card. I have not had trouble with the AmEx elsewhere. I do wonder if Kimpton Palladian maybe does not like how AmEx reverses immediately and does not tolerate such horse manure, undisclosed, unauthorized overcharges.

Comfortable modernized old building. It’s in an old building that has been modernized. So we get that old fashioned charm with modern conveniences. We asked for an ADA bathroom and we were assigned to a comfortable king bed room with a huge open plan bathroom & shower. We were greeted by friendly front desk staff.

Needs updating This Kimpton needs to be updated. We've stayed at many Kimptons over the years and have an expectation that the facility will be up to date. While the rooms are nice, the entrance way and the bar/restaurant areas need to be updated. Location is excellent.

Needs updating Was surprised at the quality of this Kimpton. We've stayed at many Kimpton's over the years and they usually are view up to date and inviting. This Kimpton needs updating. The room was fine but the entry into the hotel and the dining/bar areas were depressing and not very inviting.
