Camp Cedar June 2024 This is probably one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Pools were AMAZING. Have one for families and one for adults only. They even have cabanas at the pools. Lots of activities going on each night and they have a free shuttle to Kings Island. That was a MAJOR plus. Very convenient to everything. We plan on going back!

Some areas to work on, but overall pretty good!! A 3.5, really. Camp Cedar offers a solid place to stay, some things could definitely be ironed out. It does feel a little laissez-faire in their approach in how the campground is policed. If you expect constant monitoring, this place is not for you. The children’s Swimming pool could be cleaner. Some debris was beside the pool, my whole stay (Monday to at least Thursday night). We enjoyed the fireworks that could be seen from Kings Island. That was cool. We found the floor in our cabin to be on the dirty side, so be prepared to wear your shoes inside. The place had a rustic modern feel to it. Great air conditioning, appliances, and fridge worked well. The fan in our bathroom was the loudest fan. I think I’ve ever heard. The Wi-Fi was terrible. Like you can’t load a Google review without waiting type of terrible. I think people still want to be able to access information and no doubt streaming while away. They should do a better job with their Wi-Fi. Awesome location for Kings Island, Not bad for downtown Cincinnati about a 25 to 30 minute drive, depending on traffic. I would consider a repeat visit, absolutely!!

Disappointed We spent close to $1000 for a cabin for 3 nights. The cabin wasn’t clean. Didn’t even have garbage bags for trash can. Propane gas fire pit didn’t work. Reported to the maintenance never received call back. Food at restaurant wasn’t good. We were ignored when we went in had to flag down waitress that didn’t seem to care. In the family pool. Adults were standing in pool with there coolers of alcohol at the edge of pool. Kids riding golf carts around with not supervision.

Service Needs Improvement We spent 4 nights at Camp Cedar in June. The location near Kings Island was great. The free shuttle service was excellent. The camping sites were nice and had a separate parking space for vehicle, gas fire pit was provided. The pool was clean but I think a break every 2 hours is necessary because there were so many underage kids without parents. This would give the lifeguards the opportunity to see if parents had guardians or if they were just dropped off to fend for themselves. There were too many glitches that tell me the processes are not well understood by staff, or perhaps they don’t have processes? First, we were moved to a different campsite- turns out the reservationist never locked in our site. Second, we reserved a cabana and even with the receipt in hand the guard insisted we didn’t have a reservation which necessitated talking with the manager- turns out they overbooked. Third, I watched the young bar tender. He was making too much in the blender and then throwing it away. Fourth, we went to the grill which is now open. It was 7pm. It was not busy. We ordered salads and pizzas. We asked the waitress for our salads to be brought first. Waitress said, of course. An hour later, we had not received our salads. We had three hungry kids with us, so we left. The management team was good about trying to make things right, but well trained staff is what makes for a great experience.

Beware of photos, they can be deciving (Mulberry Cabin) Nice idea, but not very accommodating for a wheelchair bound child. Stayed in the Mulberry cabin, yes its wheelchair accessible, but only to the front door. Once inside the only place the chair would fit was the small kitchen area. The only way to the bathroom(s) was to wheel to the bedroom doorway, have someone lift the child out of the chair, place them on the edge of the bed and have them scoot across the end of the bed, have another person in our party to lift the child and sit them on the toilet/in the shower. Although the site's photos make it look like it is fully accessible for a wheelchair to maneuver around, it is not! I would have rather spent my money on a hotel room where you have more room to move around. Other than the above issue, we had a nice time at the resort, but will not return unless they make one of the other cabin types wheelchair accessible. We had friends stay in the the Aspen & Hickory which were more open and accommodating but were not wheelchair friendly.
