Built in 1888, the pink-granite Texas Capitol building in Austin is the largest state capitol in the country and even taller than the US Capitol in Washington, DC—proof that everything is, indeed, bigger in Texas. horrible Terrible Check IN, Could not find my reservation (had email showing reservation) TV wouldnt work, DIRTY room, had to call days after to get my refundable fee refunded, wanted $35 for parking (checked in 10pm- checked out 0500 next morning) very poor customer service!

Several basic utilities need attention No one was at the front desk when we arrived. There was no bell to ring and no phone number provided to call. I was ready to leave, but our travel companion waited long enough for a staff member to return. I understand that there are staffing shortages, but providing a phone number for guests to call would give us a sense of options, rather than a sense of helplessness. The TV signal in our room didn't work. We reported this to the front desk at 9:32pm. The hotel has no maintenance staff available to look at our TV. Potentially, we could have relocated to another room, but we were only staying one night and changing rooms at that point seemed to be too much of a hassle. Also, that wasn't offered as an option to us. One of the reading light bulbs (a curly Compact Fluorescent Lightbulb or CFL) by one of the Queen beds was burnt out. One of the outlets had no cover plate, and required my moving the conduit connecting to the light fixture, so I could plug into the upper outlet, since the lower outlet didn’t work. On the opposite side of the room, the cover on the cable connection in the wall was loose, which was probably a contributing factor to the lack of a signal received by the TV video monitor. The telephone had the number of a different room on it. It was only an ornament on the nightstand. There was no line that even pretended to connect to the wall, to the front desk, to another room in the hotel, nor to the outside world. On the entrance door, the interior lock was missing. There was no refrigerator and there was no microwave, but for this price, I didn’t necessarily expect these amenities. However, I do expect items that are in the room, such as a lightbulb and the television, to be properly functioning.

This place is a dump! This place is a dump. It needs to be condemned and should not be advertised as a hotel. Maybe a brothel at best. Do not book here!! The place is falling apart, dirty, disgusting and dusty. We found a big in our bed while packing up to move to another hotel we booked, walking away from money spent elsewhere where. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Austin. So clean, beautiful pool, and great stay. So happy we walked away from money from La Quinta, now hoping they will do the right thing and give us our money back.
