Orlando, Florida: World-Famous Theme Parks and Cultural Surprises

Located in the center of Florida, Orlando may be forever associated with the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks—the world’s most-visited entertainment resort. Spanning roughly 30,000 acres, it encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, and the Disney Springs® Area. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. Walk across the park to sample Moroccan cuisine for lunch, or ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. Before heading back to the hotel, take in the nightly fireworks, laser, and water show. One of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is also home to Universal Orlando—which includes The Wizarding World of Harry Potter—SeaWorld, and Gatorland.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando's vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which hosts family-friendly improv shows five nights a week.

Our Stay Good afternoon, God Bless you. Our stay here was Good, only two things 1) checking in was a wait especially for my mother who is 85 yrs old and have problems with her legs after riding for two and a half hours. We arrived there at 3:34pm and was told we could not get a room until after 4:00pm. Well we did not get our room until around 5:10pm. Which means my mother have been in the car for about 4 hours. I know not having enough cleaning help is a problem, but I Pray to God it will get Better. 2) The elevator in Building 5, my God they don't give you enough time to get on or off. The doors closed up on My Sister before she could come out had to hit the button over again to get her out. Yes it was kind of funny but scray to her. Other then that I believe my family had a Great weekend. As we say God is Good all the time and all the time God is Good. Thank you God Bless Candance Torres and Family

4th visit, excellent as always This is our 4th visit to Lake Buena Vista Resort Village, and it was just like coming home. We had a 3 bedroom apartment, with 2 king size rooms and a double room, and the beds are HUGE. Main bedroom also has a large jacuzzi style bath. The apartment has full cooking facilities with a cooker (stove) and a microwave, a large fridge freezer, washing/drying facilities and all the cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils you will need. It is fully self-catering - they provide a small sample of washing liquid, dishwasher liquid and laundry detergent but otherwise you have to provide everything else. If you want towels refreshing or the room cleaning, there is an additional charge for that. We didn't bother, we just bought some laundry detergent and extra toilet rolls from the shop on the resort and washed the towels ourselves. Pool is excellent, with a bar that serves drinks and hot food. Drinks are quite pricey however. The on-site Irish Pub is excellent, serving a decent range of beers. The resort shop is extremely pricey - I'd recommend only using it if you are desperate, otherwise use the nearby shops for groceries. There is a Walmart over the other side of a busy road, or a Publix grocery store 0.5 miles from the resort. Plenty of fast-food options within 0.5 miles - Chipotle, Mod Pizza, Subway, Wendy's, Five Guys are all on the same retail park as Publix supermarket, and there is an excellent food court in the outlet stores attached to the hotel. Make sure to visit the outlet stores - they have some super cheap deals on stores like Calvin Klein, Under Armour, Nike etc. And of course, most important, how close is Disney? In light traffic, you can drive to Magic Kingdom or Disney Springs in less than 10 minutes. Universal is a little further away, maybe a 20 minute drive. The town of Celebration is a must-visit, only 5 or 10 minutes drive away. Overall, very happy with our 4 visit to Lake Buena Vista Resort Village.
