All-Inclusive Beach Resort in the Dominican Republic
This all-inclusive Dominican Republic resort sprawls across a tropical hillside near sandy beaches along the Caribbean Sea. There’s something for everyone here—a playground and art club for children, plus a nightclub and bars for grownups. There are 12 pools and two spas, and you can kick it up a notch with snorkeling and other water sports. This deal gets you the VIP treatment, including access to an exclusive pool, sports bar, and welcome party.
Much of the activity here centers on two nearby beaches. Additionally, you can visit the VIP beach, where you’ll get unique drinks and special loungers. Not everything has to do with water, however. You can play golf at the Los Mangos course during the day and enjoy theater shows at night. For dinner, choose from a lineup of restaurants ranging from a Brazilian steak house to a Mexican eatery to an international buffet. Conclude the evening with a drink from 1 of 13 bars.
Each one-bedroom suite features a kitchenette and a dining area. A large balcony or terrace in each unit faces the surrounding mountains or gardens. Suites have Caribbean-inspired decor complemented by rattan, wicker, and bamboo furniture.
The Dominican Republic’s North Coast: Golden-Sand Beaches and Mountainside Cities
The beach known as Playa Cofresi was named after Roberto Cofresi, a pirate dubbed “the Robin Hood of the Caribbean” for his method of dispensing with stolen treasure. Today, the 3-mile (5 km) stretch of golden sand attracts more tourists than buccaneers; a popular spot is Ocean World, a habitat for dolphins, sea lions, and other marine life.
From the beach, it’s only a 10-minute drive to Puerto Plata, the largest city on the Dominican Republic’s North Coast. This mountainside city is known for its pastel-colored Victorian buildings with gingerbread fretwork. Prominent cultural attractions include the colonial-era Fort of San Felipe, which was once used to ward off pirates. A couple of cannons still sit atop the thick walls of the fortress, and cannonballs, bayonets, and other 16th-century artifacts are displayed in the museum.

4. What are the costs for additional guests? This package is good for two adults. Kids aged 0–3 are free and kids aged 4–11 are an extra $20 per child per night. Additional guests 12 or older are an additional $82 per person per night.
5. Are dinner reservations required for restaurants? Is there a dress code? Reservations are required for dinner at most nonbuffet restaurants. Long pants for men may be required for the reservation-only restaurants. For all buffets and most other restaurants, casual dress is appropriate.

Resort is very big and with the Groupon offering VIP - you have access to most of the resort offerings at the lowest level price. The VIP includes access to the pools, 2 restaurants (we were given 4 though), 3 beaches (NP, VIP and Confresi). When we checked-in with the Groupon there was no upsell. They were ready with our room and just gave us the keys!
When you check in, make your reservations for all of your restaurants that day. They fill up very fast!
We enjoyed the resort too because there are so many different areas, it is quite big so this provided many opportunities to walk off the food and drinks!
We attended the African Dance performance on Tuesday night, the Traditional Dominican dance on Wednesday night and we attended the VIP party on Thursday night. The VIP party was wild! In the VIP pool you can also do hookah, There are many additional places that you can use the VIP bracelet (like the Blues Restaurant in the Presidential for breakfast) so be sure to ask around and ask several of the receptionists.
I loved the sushi on the beach! The whirlpools on the beach are not heated but still very refreshing. There a couple of pools that you can order at the bar from the pool.
I did loose an expensive watch and did not find it - so be careful with your belongings and leave things you don't want to loose in the room.
Only drawback was that free internet/wifi is very spotty. They offer it on the beach but it is slow. We had to go to the Casino to use the internet.
We flew into Santiago airport and rented a car to drive to the resort. We were able to park the car for free. There are a million places to rent a car in the Santiago airport and outside of it. I would recommend checking out a few for the best price.
You have to check out of the room at 11am but can still stay at the resort until 3pm of your departure date.
