The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

Plan for unannounced security deposit and super slow itemized checkout Took my husband on a trip to celebrate being cancer-free for the second time in 10 years. Aways wanted to stay in the pyramid. Room was fine. Nothing special but clean. The shower door track was messed up. Had to place the door back in the track twice. To check in, we had to stand in line nearly an hour. Upon checkout, I tried the mobile option. Said it couldn't find our reservation and to see the front desk. Line was over an hour long. There was NO customer service employee at the checkout stations. We needed to leave. I tried going to the priority line, but the lady was rude and said it was for priority card holders. I said "is it not a priority if your check out system doesn't work?" She said I needed to stand in line if we wanted an itemized receipt or drop my keys in the express checkout box. So my husband found a manager. He said the same thing. So we dropped keys in the express checkout box. There were multiple people having the same problem with the computer and mobile checkout who ended up dropping their keys in the box. They didn't want to, or didn't have time to stand in the long line either. Worst customer service ever. And that's not all. We were assigned a room right above an area blocked off. We didn't think anything of it until they woke us up with drilling and pounding early in the morning. Word of warning; don't expect much in the way of customer service here. Also, nothing was said about a security hold of $75/night! This is why we wanted an itemized charge list. To be sure that was not charged. We wonder if the room assignment and trouble checking out was because we reserved through Expedia and not directly with Luxor. The Luxor website said they guarantee the lowest price, yet when I called Luxor directly they couldn't match the Expedia price. Their excuse was that other sites don't show all the charges, which Expedia did. So we stayed with Expedia. We tolerated the wait in line to check in, and the construction noise, and the shower door problem. But the problems and rudeness at checkout was uncalled for. Poor planning for the front desk. Rude employees. Planned inconvenience for people who need a fast checkout and want an itemized list of charges. We won't be back.

Good experience for a first visit to Vegas This was our (my son and I) first trip to Vegas. It was a 2-day information gathering trip for a future longer whole family trip. The hotel needs a refresh. It shows its age. Service was very good. Many shows and exhibits available in the hotel. Casino lighting too low compared to other casinos. The dark decor does not help with the lighting. Uber and Lyft area too far from main lobby and casino. It was on the Lower Level of the Tower part of the hotel. For someone in a manual wheelchair, it is a long trek that could have been easily avoided if the service was at the main entrance. We had an ADA room. It made my son's disability accommodations very helpful. The shower had an appropriate fixed bench and multiple handrails. A 10 out of 10 on the ADA side. The room was very clean and comfortable, but it also needs a refresh. None of these "lackings" were show-stoppers and overall, it was still a good experience. We will be trying another casino hotel on our next trip. Not sure if the pricing was due to it being the off-season, so I really don't have any comparison info. The pricing was very affordable and is what kept this review at good (4/5) instead of average (3/5).
