The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker; or grab a front-row seat to the city’s over-the-top glitz at nightly magic, acrobatic, and musical performances. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

Not like it used to be The hotel has gotten old. Elevators are scary and sway back in forth. We had no face towels in the room. There was no refrigerator or microwave. Could not check out on the TV or online as told by check recording. had to lug bags to the front desk to check out.

It's always a pleasure to stay at Luxor. We got a single King room, very comfortable room and bed. The best way to exit out to the strip is to take the walkway to Excalibur. There are two areas in the parking garage for motorcycle parking. Reservations, check-in and check-out are easy on the app but they also send e-mail asking if you're ready for both. You can use your phone as a room key, or activate actual plastic card keys at kiosks in the lobby.

A surprisingly Excellent experience at Luxor I just checked out of the Luxor and wanted to share my thoughts. I went in there with low expectations and boy was I surprised at how it all played out. Overall, I would rate my experience as Excellent. Here's why. The Hotel is older but kept in very good condition. I found that everything worked properly with no complaints. My room was all in around USD 100 ish per night (mid week) and I think thats a bargain. Firstly, you need to play by MGM's rules which are simple when you think about it. 1) Book direct with the Hotel and sign up for their players card. MGM like this and will reward you accordingly whether you gamble or not. 2) Download the App and engage with the Hotel via that. MGM will be very happy 3) Understand that this is a less Expensive Hotel and attracts people on a budget. If you dont do these things - you wont have a good time. The check in process will take forever and you will struggle with everything. My own experience? I flew in to LAS at around 11AM and my room was ready by the time I got to Luxor at 12PM. I had a digital key and could cut my own plastic key at a kiosk. I paid $20 for early check in at the time of booking. I didnt have to wait to check in at 4 or line up - and there were massive lines. Use the App people! I used to App to ask housekeeping for service and extra blankets. Everything worked. Understand that you are paying a low price. This is not the Waldorf Astoria but what it is, is very good. The location is South strip. You can walk to NYNY, MGM Grand and more. It's not that far. Get some exercise or use the free tram. Overall, I found the staff to be friendly and engaging. The pool was very good. It was very hot so you only last a couple of hours out there. Pool side service is expensive so plan ahead. With Hotels like Luxor, they are priced in a certain way and they offer their own version of hospitality which involves guests making some adjustment which includes using the App. Would I stay here again? If I was looking for a 5 star experience on a budget - for sure. Go in with your eyes open and you will have a great time. Rail against everything you dont like and you wont enjoy yourself.
