Times Square, Manhattan: Flashy Neon Lights and World-Class Culture

Times Square is at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The famous address—affectionately known as “the Crossroads of the World”—is home to hypnotizing billboards, giant wraparound news tickers, and the neon lights of Broadway. Beyond the glitz and gimmicks, there are a number of cultural offerings in the area, ranging from museums to Michelin-rated restaurants. Buildings of historical and architectural interest include the Paramount Building and One Times Square, site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop.

Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art houses a trove of masterpieces including Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, Claude Monet's Water Lilies paintings, and Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. Save time for a stroll through the museum's outdoor sculpture garden, where installations are clustered around sparkling reflecting pools. About a mile north of Times Square, the David H. Koch Theater is home to one of the world’s foremost dance companies—the New York City Ballet, which stages contemporary works as well as classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

To me it's about customer service and the customer service was beyond my exceptions. Allison at the front desk is an angel in human form. She was so accommodating to me, I'm a disabled veteran. I was traveling to attend an event at the UN. The location is so close to the UN. You and walk there. You can take the train or Uber. Amtrak and the regular train is so close. Radio City is down the street.

The H Stands for Horrendous. My wife and I were part of a family group that stayed here for three (3) nights. In Feb 2025 we had booked premium rooms. Upon arrival at the hotel we were advised that the rooms we had booked were not available causing my sister in law to burst into tears. We ended up in budget rooms with quite terrible facilities with no opportunity to stay in the rooms we had originally booked and expected. Staff were "painted into a corner" to be honest with nowhere to go. The rooms are VERY old and in desperate need of refurbishing. Bathroom sinks are cracked and hot water took 3 to 4 minutes to comes through. Upon arriving back at room on day three the shower curtain had been removed and not replaced meaning that the spray from the shower went all over the floor. Carpets are old, worn, tatty and wall paper was peeling in locations. In addition to NOT getting the booked rooms, we have been charged additional fees three times with zero explanation or reasoning. We have been advised to contact the hotel to discuss despite agreeing face to face the final price. Overall this is without question the worse hotel stay of my life. Facilities terrible, being over charged and not receiving the booking we expected.

The H in hotel stands for Hell We booked premium rooms at this hotel back in February. We travelled from the UK, 7 of us including my 80 year old parents. Due to weather issues on landing at JFK, we were held on the tarmac for an hour and didn’t arrive at the hotel until just after 9pm, by this time we had been travelling for 22 hours. At check in, the young man clicked away at his computer and then said there were issues with his computer and he would be right back. When he returned, he said there were maintenance issues with ALL of the premium rooms and they could not be used, I asked what issue and he said water damage. We went back and forth, this was not acceptable, we had booked premium rooms and it seemed unlikely that ALL premium rooms were out of use due to water damage, they also said if we checked the next day they might have rooms available, how do water damaged rooms that can’t be used at night, be available the next day. This hotel lures people in to booking their premium rooms that are shown online, they give these few rooms to the first people that arrive. Those that arrive late then get the standard rooms, which if you look further for pictures of these rooms - they are awful. We didn’t have much choice, we could not go trudging round New York at almost 10 o clock with my 80 year old parents, looking for hotel rooms. The hotel would not allow us to pay for the one night and then look to move, we had to pay for the full 3 nights. We argued a reduced rate of $100 per room per night, we paid by chip and pin for $340 for each of the 3 rooms, by this time, we just needed a bed. On entering the first room, we were hit by a damp and mouldy smell, not pleasant at all. The rooms aren’t just dated, they are VERY outdated, the carpets did not make you want to put your feet on them. The one saving grace was clean white sheets. The other 2 rooms followed a similar vein with plug sockets not fully fitted and wires hanging from the walls, we also had missing plugs in the bathrooms and rusty plug holes. The plastic coating in our bath tub had bubbled away from the solid base, making showering very unsettling. My 17 year old daughter suffers with autism and severe OCD, these rooms were very difficult for her to cope with and she wasn’t able to use our bathroom, luckily, she picked the best bathroom of the 3 rooms and used that. If we had been away on our own, she would have really struggled. As it was, when we first got to the room, she stood and cried, couldn’t bring herself to touch anything, we managed to talk her into bed after a while as we really didn’t have any other choice at that time of night. We woke the next morning to find the hotel hadn’t just taken the agreed $340 per room but had charged my credit card for over £1600. I will be entering into a charge back dispute with my credit card company for the extra charges. We have a recording of the conversation, where the costs were discussed and agreed. This hotel will not be keeping anything more than was agreed, but, I’m currently enjoying the rest of this trip before contacting my bank. Would I book at this hotel again, even if promised a premier room?? Not on my life! Only given 1 mark as it’s impossible to give a minus

Good price for location Great rate with a nice check-in experience with Ms Racquel. Free breakfast to go and a wonderland waterfall shower and bed after a hard day's work. Obviously, the location is perfect and the price not too bad considering this, especially when work is paying!
