Manning Park, British Columbia: Year-Round Adventure in the Cascade Mountains

Hiking paths and ski trails crisscross the Cascade Mountains in the 170,000-acre E. C. Manning Provincial Park, which draws more than a million annual visitors. Winter is the park’s busy season, with tourists coming from the surrounding areas to downhill ski and snowboard on the terrain’s two dozen well-groomed trails. When it is warmer, scenic hikes here abound, from the rushing riverside path on Canyon Nature Trail to the wildflower-fringed Dry Ridge Trail, a popular place to spot wildlife, especially black bears. Head to the scenic Lightning Lake to canoe, kayak, or fish for rainbow trout.
