Hotel at a Glance: Margaritaville Resort Times Square

Nestled at the vibrant crossroads of 40th Street and Seventh Avenue, Margaritaville Resort Times Square stands as a bold testament to island pride within the relentless rhythm of Manhattan. From the moment you step into its tropical sanctuary—where breezy island charm meets polished city sensibility—you are transported to a realm of relaxed elegance. The resort exudes historical pride as much as it does urban luxury, paying homage to the carefree Jimmy Buffett legacy amid Times Square’s storied theatrical energy.

Perched above the electric streets, the resort’s rooftop pool offers a rare respite—the only outdoor heated pool amid Times Square’s towering facades. Whether you’re reclining on its deck with a frozen concoction or luxuriating in well-appointed rooms equipped with high-tech comforts—a 55-inch smart TV, plush robes, mini-fridge, and Keurig coffee maker—the entire experience whispers of legacy, leisure, and island escapism in the city that never sleeps.

New York City, NY: The Ever-Beating Heart of American Ambition

Few cities command the world’s imagination quite like New York City—a metropolis that rises from the edge of the Atlantic as a towering emblem of resilience, reinvention, and raw energy. Home to over eight million people and the birthplace of countless cultural revolutions, NYC is a patchwork of distinct boroughs unified by an unyielding spirit. From the granite canyons of Manhattan to the creative pulse of Brooklyn and the storied enclaves of the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island, the city remains an unrivaled theater of dreams where every street corner hums with history, and every skyline silhouette evokes global admiration.

At once a financial powerhouse, artistic crucible, and political epicenter, New York City’s influence spans continents. It is where Broadway sets the stage for world-class theater, Wall Street dictates the tempo of markets, and the Statue of Liberty greets seekers of a better life with timeless grace. Its past is etched into landmarks like Ellis Island and the Empire State Building, while its future is written daily in the innovation hubs of Silicon Alley and the academic halls of Columbia and NYU. In New York, every block tells a story—and every story, no matter how improbable, finds a place to unfold.

$500 SMOKE FEE SCAM !! The hotel did not provided a bill at the checkout, and they said everything is fine. But couple days later, they charged my card with 500$ smoking fees. Non of us smoke, so I called them, and I explained that none of us smoke. Of course they refused, and after a search online, I found that other people have been scammed as well with the same $500 smoking fine, which now I am sure is not a defected smoke detector, but is it an organized scam. stay away from this hotel

Charged Smoking fees - Erroneously and no remedy with hotel Mamagement ⚠️ Caution : be aware for the surprise when you checkout and get blindsided by a smoking fee. Completely wrong. Non smoking family … children and elderly family with respiratory system prognosis so also non smokers of any type, no vaping or smoking of any kind. The sensor were triggered and there is nothing you can do to dispute it. No ability to discuss the facts with the hotel to correct the false alarm. Tried to get it the resolved with the hotel for over a week to no avail then visit the sensor company website (Rest Sensor) to find a way to resolve the issue and they make sure to direct you back to the hotel. What does it take to bring a class action lawsuit. These sensors are not perfect and the fees are high. Hotels relying on these Rest (brand) sensors which can be inaccurate, should disclose if they will be using this technology. Hotels disclose when there are mini-bar items in room, and alert guests that items removed will be charged immediately. Hotels shouldn’t be able to charge these fees without disclosing.

BEWARE OF FALSE / SCAM SMOKING CHARGE BEWARE OF SCAM CHARGES I recently stayed at Margaritaville Resort Times Square from August 2 to August 7. My family occupied two rooms, room 2306 and 2311. I have been notified of an unexpected charge of $573.76 per room. Upon calling the hotel, I was told that this charge was from smoking in the room. I had called three times to resolve this issue as neither I nor any of my family members who were there are smokers or vapers. Both rooms were occupied by very young children ages 6 and under and responsible adults who have never in their lifetime indulged in such vices. This smoking charge is absolutely false, but the hotel refused to even listen to us as they claim that these are charges based on sensors in the room. Of note, I was never notified of smoke being detected in either rooms for the entire stay. If they knew that the smoke was detected and if detected during the stay, why were we not notified this in the six days and five nights that we were there? Also, housekeeping cleaned both rooms daily. Wouldn’t the hotel been notified about any smoking suspicion within the 6 days we were there? Why were we never notified and simply charged without our knowledge? Per the manager Will, who we spoke to on 8/16/25, we were told that there is no process for resolving this issue or disputing it as they stand by the sensor report. I am being fined a total of $1147.32 (i.e. $573.66 per room) for something that I truthfully and vehemently DID NOT DO. Please note that there are similar reviews with the exact same complaint as above. I recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Island Vibes in the Heart of NYC I stayed at Margaritaville Times Square for a quick city break with a friend, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The moment you walk in, the tropical theme sets the tone — vibrant colors, beachy details, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you forget you’re in the middle of Manhattan. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The rooftop was a highlight — sipping cocktails with incredible skyline views felt surreal. Location-wise, it’s ideal: minutes from Broadway shows, shopping, and the best food spots. The staff were friendly and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you want the excitement of NYC with a laid-back island twist.
