Four-Star Resort with Championship Golf Course

Situated along the Intracoastal Waterway, the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes presents a fountain-and-palm-tree façade typical of Myrtle Beach's many resorts. But beyond the exterior, you’ll find a homey experience, beginning in the lobby, where you’ll check in at one of two old-fashioned wooden desks. A concierge is on hand to book tee times at the onsite championship golf courses or give tips on the family-friendly activities close to the inn, from shopping along the boardwalk to attending a live music show.

Spacious guest rooms feature private balconies, large bathrooms, and free WiFi access. Take advantage of year-round golfing by hitting the links at the resort's onsite course. The Grande Dunes Resort Club was named National Course of the Year in 2009 by the National Golf Course Owners Association.

At WaterScapes restaurant, Chef Corbett Rourk selects fresh-caught seafood for entrees ranging from Maryland-style crab cakes to shrimp and grits. The upscale eatery offers a wine list with dozens of options to choose from, so diners can find the perfect pairing for their meal.

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Sandy Beaches, Golf Courses, and Classic Amusement-Park Rides

Myrtle Beach is the crown jewel of South Carolina's Grand Strand, a 60-mile stretch of white-sand beaches along the Atlantic seaboard that draws surfers, fishers, and kayakers. The city was named one of the best vacation spots in the United States for a family by USA Today, in part because of its wooden boardwalk, which stretches for more than a mile and buzzes with carnival games and amusement-park rides. Hop into the SkyWheel Ferris wheel’s gondolas, surrounded by more than a million LED lights, for a panoramic view of the city below.

Less than 20 miles south of Myrtle Beach, the tiny fishing village of Murrells Inlet provides a tranquil contrast to the boardwalk's hustle and bustle. At Brookgreen Gardens, more than 2,000 sculptures stand amid sprawling floral gardens and massive, moss-covered oak trees that have been around for centuries. Murrells Inlet is also home to the Tom Fazio–designed TPC Myrtle Beach golf course, 1 of nearly 100 courses in the area that helped Myrtle Beach earn its title as the seaside golf capital of the world.

Perfect location/destination. It felt like we were on a vacation inside of another vacation. I look the marina area and it is close to everything we enjoy in Myrtle Beach, so we will be staying here again.

Thanksgiving Disappointment ! Decline in service and upkeep! Not Grand Dunes Worthy Anymore! My family and have been guests of Marina inn for over 10 years. The location, service, and amenities were excellent in years past. We use all amenities from Waterscapes, valet, pools, bars, dinner in holidays in the ballroom, shuttle to the beach. However, over the last few years, we have noticed a decline in service, cleanliness and upkeep of the resort. My family's last stay, we checked in on Thanksgiving Day, only to be given a room that was in dire need of attention. The carpet had holes and terrible stains. The 2 Bedroom unit was dusty and the furniture was worn and dingy. We didn't feel comfortable AT ALL and felt offended to be assigned to have paid the price we did and assigned this unit. This unit should NOT have been in commission, given it's condition. Called the front desk, the sent bellman, to take us to another unit which was in much better condition. Approximately an hour later, LOSS PREVENTION comes to the unit to remove us, stating we are not supposed to be in the room and needed to pack up and go back to the original room. He sated the room belongs to another guest that has not checked in yet. (insert confused face) To make a long story shorter, after several hours, being offered rooms that would not fit the number of people in my family, we landed in a room that was not exactly what we paid for. This was not how I wanted to spend my Thanksgiving holiday. I spent most of the day on the phone with the front desk, talking to LOSS PREVENTION and being spoken to like we stole something, and moving from room to waiting. They offered my family complimentary breakfast during our stay and a half baked apology. I spoke to Matt Grigg, the Operations Manger, and he apologized profusely and assured us if we came back to visit again, he would personally handle my reservation and we would receive suitable accommodations at a special rate. He said he valued our loyalty to the brand and wanted to make things right. A couple weeks ago, I called him to make that reservation and he had someone else to contact me and let's just say, things did not get handled to my satisfaction. They made me feel uncomfortable and like I was trying to get something for nothing. My family and I agreed, it's time for us to move on from Marina Inn Grand Dunes and find a resort that can offer the level of service and accommodations we like to have when we travel. I have traveled extensively, domestic and internationally and I enjoy being comfortable and feeling like my business is important and I am a valued customer after 10 years, staying several times per year. I've referred more people than I can count to Marina Inn, but no longer!

Best Christmas vacation This Resort/Inn is such a unique experience. We have vacationed/ lived in the area for decades. We have stayed at many hotels along the way but this Resort is very impressive. We stayed here both Christmas Eve and then returned the night following Christmas to spend another night doing what our kids say “living our best lives”. Both stays we had the pleasure of interacting with Scott, who by the way is phenomenal at his job. His heart is in the right place. The view is unbeatable. So many amazing options for dinner within walking distance. Activities along the waterway, beach shuttle, a full bar, coffee bar, and all types of surprises along the way. (we learned all this info from LP) We truly love showing everyone we know this Resort. May have even started a family tradition of staying there every year.

Nice hotel and close to shopping Updating is definitely needed. The furniture in our unit and the lobby needs to be replaced. Most of it is thread bare. We had some utility issues in our Unit, but it was quickly taken care of.
