Belltown, Seattle: Popular Artsy Neighborhood just North of Downtown

Located about a mile north of downtown Seattle, Belltown is the city’s most densely populated neighborhood and a great place to experience the spirit of the city. Naturally, that involves coffee (Seattle ranked behind only Portland on Travel + Leisure's 2014 list of America's Best Coffee Cities). In Belltown, you’ll find top-notch coffee shops such as Street Bean Coffee, a nonprofit space serving sustainable, locally roasted coffee and artisan pastries. Mixed in with the neighborhood’s java dispensaries and trendy restaurants are an array of art galleries.

About a half mile south is Pike Place Market, one of Seattle's most renowned attractions. Locals and out-of-towners alike flock to this semi-open-air marketplace to shop for fresh produce, fish, flowers, and meat. Come early in the morning to see the market’s fishmongers do what they're famous for: tossing the day’s catch back and forth.

Enjoyed our stay. Stayed for 5 nights. Quirky historical hotel in the heart of downtown Seattle. The hotel is a small time capsule of times gone by, older style rooms, lifts etc. but our stay was fine. Breakfast was good, door-persons were helpful with getting our bags up and out of the front steps. Rooms were cleaned daily and bottled water provided. Wifi was good. There are ice machine on some of the floors (great) and you can hear your neighbours if they are loud in the adjoining room. Our stay was good. My only gripe is when I asked the reception if they could recommend an airport shuttle…….the answer was no. I was surprised because they have an arrangement for cruise terminal transfer…..we ended up booking out own UBER to the airport.

Lovely stay Excellent stay. Nice, clean hotel in a central location downtown, easy to walk to everywhere. Staff was super friendly. Heard sirens outside during the night, which is expected downtown, but earplugs are helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic old charm hotel in the heart of Seattle Lovely old charm hotel. Fantastic service. Room is hotel size. Bathroom is normal size. The fish was good. Walls are a little thin. Bring your ear plugs just in case. I will return to this hotel. Fantastic location and service! Friendly, helpful staff too. I went to Pink Door, Triple Door and Alleycat Jazz all within walking distance. Don’t walk up and down Pine Street at night. You will love the Mayflower Park Hotel. The perfect location for the monorail and light rail.
