Comfortable hotel in Chicago We loved this lovely old hotel. It is conveniently located near Millenium Park and the Miracle Mile. Check in and out were fast and efficient. The breakfast was outstanding. The rooms were clean and comfortable, some with lake views. We’d definitely recommend the Millenium Knicketbocker! We were there five nights.

The Chicago experience Hotel was in the perfect setting, and gave me the old chicago feeling when we entered the doors. Near to all attractions and smack bang near the beach that is on lake Michigan.Everyone was truly friendly and helpful. Would recommend it to anyone

Beware! TripAdvisor might steer you wrong and the hote won’t help! Warning! Booking this hotel through TripAdvisor’s partner site might become an epic disaster like it was for me and my three kids during our 8 night stay in July 2024. The short story: I wouldn’t stay at the Knickerbocker again, and I would be extremely careful to double check that -any- room you reserve through TripAdvisor is actually the room you need by confirming in advance on the hotel’s website. This place is max 3 star quality and the breakfast is expensive and not that good: you can walk a few minutes for much better options. For the gory details, read on: My husband booked a room for four of us. Traveluro offered many options that were supposed to accommodate all of us; sadly, we later realized most were mistakes. We settled on a Standard King room (an error). We expected a room with a king bed and a pullout sofa or the ability to get a cot. Instead, we got a tiny room with what looked more like a queen sized bed without room for a cot, and barely enough for our suitcases. When I went on Knickerbocker’s site, it stated that the room we were offered on traveluro for 4 people was actually only for 2. To solve the problem, I went to the customer service desk to request changing our room to a double. The front desk staff was unhelpful, and told us they were fully booked for the night, but we could ask to switch the next day. When I said that wasn’t great, and asked if there were any other options, they eventually offered to send up a cot. I knew it’d be tight, but remained optimistic. Instead, housekeeping came up without one and told us it wouldn’t fit; they clearly knew that in advance. Of course, after a night of poor sleep, and four of us in the same bed, I went back the next day. I got the same response as the first day, so I asked what time to come back the following day (3pm). No luck. At that point I asked to speak to the manager and asked why, if their staff said there were several doubles available the following night, he couldn’t just make the switch the following day. He told me they couldn’t give me any guarantees, and I asked why not? If they had something? Afterall, they’d get the king room back. Then another manager came out and was simply rude. Telling us they couldn’t make guarantees and they had negative four rooms. I was like… ok. So I can come back every day to wait in line and be told to come back later. They were just putting me off. No sweat off their back. The room was already paid. What’s worse is that out of curiosity, I went back on traveluro.com’s site, and double queen rooms showed availability. And you know, the front desk never even suggested to change the room for an additional charge (I sort of expected as much, since the initial mistake was thinking the room was truly for four), and I’d have willingly paid. Lessons learned:1. tripadvisor and their booking partner traveluro.com are unreliable, and 2. the knickerbocker hotel feels like a scam.
