Nice hotel near central Nashville Great hotel within a 15 minute drive of downtown Nashville. The hotel also offers a free minibus which drops you near Broadway every half hour with last pick up at 10:30 pm. The staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel offers a continental breakfast. It has a bar and an outdoor pool. All in all an ideal location.

Dog s**** in the room… terrible hotel. Before I get into the specifics of this bad review I have to state, the staff in the shop and restaurant were so friendly and polite and were the only good thing about this hotel! My partner and I stayed here from Sept 3rd-11th and have never experienced such poor facilities on a holiday. The hotel was booked as part of a package and had we been able to secure better accommodation we would have paid extra to move hotel. First of all the overall cleanliness of the hotel, specifically the rooms was bad. Dust along off of the baseboards, cracked tiles with dirty grout, stained bathtub, mouldy lampshades, very much in need of a deep clean as it’s the little things that count. The decor is terrible, like a 1980’s motel however, this would not have been as noticeable had the hotel been clean. Two nights into our stay, after tolerating a pungent smell in the room we found a dried up dog poo behind the chair. We went to reception and asked to change and whilst the room was changed with no hesitation there was no real apology or effort to pacify us as paying customers. We were moved to a room of a similar standard, minus the dog excrement. The breakfast was basic and not at all the ‘continental’ breakfast advertised. Being the ‘Maxwells House’ hotel at least we thought the coffee would be decent but was honestly nothing more than brown water. Cheap coffee mate creamers and watered down fruit juices available in the mornings. A strong smell of weed throughout our stay possibly from other guests contributed to our bad experience. The surrounding neighbourhood is not one to be walked around in an evening any time after 7pm. The shuttle service is handy and most staff were friendly, the only credit to this establishment.

Basic. Won't return. Charged an extra $200 facilities fee which we were initially told was a returnable deposit. Never got it back. Rooms were basic and dated. Breakfast area was messy and for the most part unsupervised. An old guy would poke his head out now and again. There were dangerous machines around including a toaster, pancake maker and hot drinks machine. Kids can access these when staff aren't around and cause themselves real harm. Rooms were ok. The nighttime view of downtown at night were to die for. Staff seemed tired and unmotivated. It's ok but spend a little more and skip the hidden charges.
