Times Square, Manhattan: Flashy Neon Lights and World-Class Culture

Times Square is at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The famous address—affectionately known as “the Crossroads of the World”—is home to hypnotizing billboards, giant wraparound news tickers, and the neon lights of Broadway. Beyond the glitz and gimmicks, there are a number of cultural offerings in the area, ranging from museums to Michelin-rated restaurants. Buildings of historical and architectural interest include the Paramount Building and One Times Square, site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop.

Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art houses a trove of masterpieces including Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, Claude Monet's Water Lilies paintings, and Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. Save time for a stroll through the museum's outdoor sculpture garden, where installations are clustered around sparkling reflecting pools. About a mile north of Times Square, the David H. Koch Theater is home to one of the world’s foremost dance companies—the New York City Ballet, which stages contemporary works as well as classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

The hotel room was not a typical rectangle shape but rather square. Room had a safe! The Grab and Go Breakfast was okay. All items individually wrapped. Also fruit, cold cereal with milk + great coffee machine that made specialty coffees

Great Location close to Times Square and Theaters We arrived and were warmly greeted. Our room was not ready yet. We left our luggage with the bellman and went for a late lunch and a walk. When we returned, our room was ready. We were briefed on the hotel and were told about the grab and go breakfast in the morning. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, which was pretty quiet. We could see some of the Times Square digital billboards from our room, which had windows on 2 sides. Bed was comfortable and the room was a good size for NYC. I would definitely stay again, but would ask for a room that does not share a wall with the elevator. Sometimes we could hear the elevator going up and down. The bathroom sink faucet handles should be replaced as they sometimes came off when turned.

Spacious Room, hotel hit and miss in some areas but enjoyed our stay The first impression was a vague lady at the desk who just told us to take a seat, which we did whilst the bellman took our luggage. She then told us to take our luggage to the bellman to hold. No problem but confusing. Room not ready so we wandered off for a few hours. Upon our return she just handed us an envelope, nothing else? I asked about the room and her response was its all in the envelope?! I had hoped for a welcome to NY and at least - how was your trip, or where did you come from, maybe a map for the area, have you been before conversation, but nope thats ok, off we go to our room. Rooms very clean and spacious, housekeeping terrific job every day, thank you. Surprising and disappointing that no fridge in room... you can see there had been one but removed? Also no kettle to make a cup of tea, just a coffee machine. Breakfast being grab and go continental was fabulous - just not thought through as no table in rooms to eat, so sat on the couch or bed to eat breakfast - this saved us a fortune though and meant we could head off and explore NY early each day. Location handy and room so very quiet, which was a surprise for Times Square. Only hear the odd siren in the distance, but beautifully quiet! Nice place to stay, but considering we had thousands of places to pick from (and this place cost thousands to stay especially in AUD$), just a little disappointed that we didnt get the "warm and fuzzies" that we were valued guests to the front office staff. Bellman friendly as was night attendant.

No better place to stay than this one when in NYC There can be no better location. The room size was big by any standard, let alone NY city. The approach to the hotel is safe and easy. It is bang inside Times Square where you do not hear the late night noise of the Time Square. Helpful front desk, spacious clean rooms and a great location. Breakfast was cold bread, muffins and bagel. Juices and coffee / tea - all take away. No hot breakfast but that is hardly a drawback. If this hotel is available on your dates, book it.
