Times Square, Manhattan: Flashy Neon Lights and World-Class Culture

Times Square is at the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue in Midtown Manhattan. The famous address—affectionately known as “the Crossroads of the World”—is home to hypnotizing billboards, giant wraparound news tickers, and the neon lights of Broadway. Beyond the glitz and gimmicks, there are a number of cultural offerings in the area, ranging from museums to Michelin-rated restaurants. Buildings of historical and architectural interest include the Paramount Building and One Times Square, site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop.

Nearby, the Museum of Modern Art houses a trove of masterpieces including Vincent van Gogh's The Starry Night, Claude Monet's Water Lilies paintings, and Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans. Save time for a stroll through the museum's outdoor sculpture garden, where installations are clustered around sparkling reflecting pools. About a mile north of Times Square, the David H. Koch Theater is home to one of the world’s foremost dance companies—the New York City Ballet, which stages contemporary works as well as classics like Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

The hotel room was not a typical rectangle shape but rather square. Room had a safe! The Grab and Go Breakfast was okay. All items individually wrapped. Also fruit, cold cereal with milk + great coffee machine that made specialty coffees

This hotel misrepresents itself to trick you into staying This place sucks. Scuffed up, closet handles ripped out, tv turns off when you turn off the light, cable doesn’t work, remote buttons rattle inside the broken remote. Also outlets were not working except for one and the wireless phone clock/charger didn’t work. Don’t stay here. I booked through Airbnb and the hotel don’t have ac and it said it did. It was hot the whole night and I kept getting up to check the ac. I didn’t sleep all night and checked out the next morning and the manager said the would refund the night I didn’t stay, but now Airbnb is saying they are refusing to refund. I didn’t take the pictures of the broken things because I didn’t even expect that I would have to do any of this. But I can’t believe they won’t even refund for the night I didn’t stay!!!

A bit of a letdown! Honestly, this place is less than average. The toilet ran constantly as did the room next door. We called to have it addressed, and it was fixed till the next flush, so we tediously had to hear it running for the next 3 days. The breakfast is a grab-and-go" which was mediocre, the coffee was really the only thing that was good. It does not have an area to sit just a wide-open space where they should do some stand up high-tops at least. The restaurant attached to the sister property Broadway was permanently closed. So, there were no restaurants at all available. For a Millenium Premier brand, they should do better. The location really was the only plus. Walked to most everything in and around Times Square.
