Manhattan’s Financial District: Wall Street, Skyscrapers, and the 9/11 Memorial

Once the sole province of day traders and bankers working frenetic jobs at the New York Stock Exchange and on Wall Street, the Financial District has attracted its fair share of full-time residents in recent years. Today, more than 56,000 people live in the neighborhood, which borders The Battery on the southern tip of Manhattan.

The population boom has helped expose the neighborhood’s occasionally overlooked cultural attractions. At the eastern edge of Fulton Street, the revitalized South Street Seaport historic district is home to some of the oldest architecture in downtown Manhattan as well as a fleet of renovated sailing ships and an up-close view of the Brooklyn Bridge. The district is also home to the towering One World Trade Center, which is now the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Right next door, a memorial to the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives in the September 11th attacks is now open for visits, along with a museum.

There is not a better place to stay in New York City. There is not a better place to stay in all of New York City. The rooms are very spacious and stocked with almost anything you could need, the location could not be better as far as access to transportation to take you anywhere in the city, the full kitchen provides so much in the way of convenience, and the staff are some of the best I’ve ever dealt with in the hospitality industry. You will not find a bigger, more well stocked, or well provisioned room in the city…much less in the price range of what you will pay at this location. There is also the added convenience of having the Wall Street Station entrance quite literally across the street. And with a City Acres grocery store in the building, there’s absolutely nothing you would need outside of a one block radius. The fact that the room has independent heating and air controls as greatly to the comfort factor. The Casper mattress also sets this hotel apart, as it is one of the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on away from home. But I think the one aspect that sets this facility apart from every other is the amazing staff. From the front desk to the housekeeping service, everyone is focused on making your stay their priority. This is our fourth time to stay here, and we were here for eight days this visit, and there was not a single negative aspect to our stay.

Escape midtown! A perfect place to call your own in NYC away from all the tourists in midtown. If you want to feel like a real New Yorker, and maybe stay in for a night, or relax with friends and have a cocktail before going out, this is the place. I've stayed in studios and two bedrooms and all are great. Great coffee shops downstairs and very convenient to everything downtown. You'll have to hop in a cab, take a subway or go for a very long walk if you want to be in midtown though.

Bad service When we showed up to check in nobody was at the desk. We waited for 20 minutes. When the man came we told him we waited for 20 minutes and he said he had only been gone for 10. Pretty embarrassing for them I think! …………………………………………………………………………..
