F.D. Roosevelt State Park—Georgia’s largest state park—unfurls across 9,000 rolling acres between the towns of Warm Springs and Pine Mountain, just 80 miles southwest of Atlanta. It’s named after the 32nd US president, who picnicked here and swam in the park’s warm springs in the 1920s to ease his polio-related aches and pains. You can tour the Little White House Historic Site, the vacation cottage where he stayed.
