Park City, Utah: Historical Mining Town Turned Ski Mecca

Park City has humble roots as a mining town nestled in the Wasatch Range east of Salt Lake City. But in the past 30 years or so, the town has blossomed into an international skiing destination. That’s largely due to Park City Mountain. Each winter, the mountain is blanketed with an average of 365 inches of snow, which means plenty of fresh powder across more than 300 ski runs and eight terrain parks. In the warmer months, you can weave your way through groves of trees on miles of hiking and mountain-biking trails.

Back in town, Park City’s former saloons and boarding houses have given way to more than 100 independent boutiques, 30 art galleries, and 50 restaurants along Main Street. For about 10 days each January, Park City glams it up Hollywood style as the host of the Sundance Film Festival. When Sundance isn’t in town, you can catch a play, concert, or comedy show at the circa-1929 Egyptian Theatre.

Amazing value for the 2-b townhome. Clean, spacius, close to restaurants and shops, and 10 mins to the ski resorts or you can take the bus which stops at the townhome. I plan to come back!

Our Long-Time Favorite Family Staycation We have been coming to Newpark Resort for 12 years, since our youngest was a baby. We've stayed with family, friends, and extended family. It's always clean and comfortable. The front desk staff are friendly, the amenities are second to none (they even have a Peloton bike in the gym now--so easy to connect my account and get in my rides!), and the location can't be beat. It's within walking distance to dining and shopping and a 5-minute drive to Utah Olympic Park. It's quiet but there's always something fun happening, too. We highly recommend this resort!

good appearance, poor maintenance my company booked a room for me at this resort...the location fits into the company's plans...i arrived 7/17/24 Wednesday evening...the property looks bright and attractive from the outside...check-in was easy...after arriving in my room, i noticed the patio door was jammed...called front desk and the receptionist asked for my cell number...surprised, i gave it to her...she said the maintenance man Kevin was call me...he never did...the room was large but quitr warm...i turned the temperature down to 65...the room stayed around 70 all night...finally, got up to take a shower and found the shower faucet broken...when checking out i shared with the receptionist my challenges...she said to please write the hotel GM: "he really cares"...i wrote to the GM and never heard back...safe to say, i will never stay at this property again...

Top-notch customer service Absolutely top marks for this beautiful property. But what really got me was the customer service from the front desk to the hospitality to the house cleaning and the text message communication with the front desk. I have rarely ever seen customer service like this, and that would be a reason alone to stay here.
