North Myrtle Beach, SC: Where the Grand Strand's Charm Meets Coastal Serenity

Nestled along the northern stretch of South Carolina's famed Grand Strand, North Myrtle Beach is a sun-drenched haven where relaxed coastal living meets vibrant Southern hospitality. Known for its wide, uncrowded beaches and gentle Atlantic waves, this charming seaside city offers a quieter alternative to its bustling southern neighbor, Myrtle Beach. The iconic Cherry Grove Pier, a historic landmark since the 1950s, stretches proudly into the ocean, offering panoramic views and prime fishing spots. Lush maritime forests and winding tidal creeks frame the area, providing a scenic backdrop for kayaking, birdwatching, and exploring the region's rich natural beauty.

Beyond its pristine shores, North Myrtle Beach thrives as a hub of classic beach culture, where shag dancing—the official state dance of South Carolina—comes alive at legendary venues like the OD Pavilion. The city’s distinct neighborhoods, from the upscale Ocean Drive to the family-friendly Crescent Beach, each carry their own nostalgic charm, dotted with retro beach cottages and modern resorts alike. Whether savoring fresh seafood at a waterfront grill or teeing off at one of the area’s championship golf courses, visitors are embraced by an atmosphere of timeless relaxation and understated elegance, making it a quintessential Lowcountry escape.

Well Overpriced for what you get! My experience during this stay was very disappointing. The air and water filters had not been changed, and there was a persistent musty odor in the room. No proper blanket was provided—only two sheets—and the floors were so unclean that the bottoms of my feet turned brown when walking without socks. Additionally, there was visible mold at the base of the shower. Communication at check-in was also lacking. I was only told a wristband was required for the pool, not the gym, which resulted in being denied entry after taking the shuttle there. The dining experience was also unsatisfactory—my BLT sandwich was served on end pieces of bread, was not toasted, and had no mayonnaise. Another major concern is the allowance of smoking on the pool deck. The vape smoke was unpleasant and overwhelming, particularly concerning with many children present. Overall, the lack of cleanliness, poor communication, and disregard for guest comfort made this stay unacceptable.

Stephen Baldwin Is The Man !! Thank you Stephen for being so accommodating. You are a life saver. My grandma truly appreciates it. She needed the Gatorade to feel better as she is diabetic. Once again, thank you so much :)

Horrible experience Please read fully, worst part towards the end. Horrible experience Please read fully, worst part towards the end. I booked a one-bedroom villa at North Beach Resort & Villas for my mom’s birthday (Aug 26–31), spending over $1,200 expecting a special experience. Unfortunately, it was deeply disappointing. On arrival, the sleeper sofa had no bedding. I tried calling guest services, but no one answered, so I had to walk to the front desk to request it. A staff member eventually brought it, and I also reported that none of the TVs worked — the remotes were broken and taped together. She said she'd submit a maintenance request. When we returned later that night, the TVs were still not working. Again, calls went unanswered, so I walked back to the front desk for help. A technician finally came and fixed them. We also found the WiFi wasn’t working, and the bedroom had a dirty, stained area rug that could’ve easily been replaced. We called guest services again, with no answer. Frustrated, we went to the front desk in person, where several guests were already in line to speak to the supervisor with complaints. When we finally spoke with the supervisor, Patrick, we asked about changing rooms, mainly due to how unsanitary the carpet was(Picture). We were upset but not hostile. Instead of addressing our concerns, he only offered to send someone to check the WiFi, which made us more upset — and he then told us we should check out. We were shocked and went back to the villa. Later, around 11pm security officer — the only respectful person we encountered — came to evict us but after assessing the situation and seeing that we weren't causing any disturbances or anything like that he assured us we could stay until morning and said he wouldn’t evict two women alone at night. We appreciated his professionalism and care. While all this was happening, I had also called the booking company to request a refund. The agent put me on hold to speak with Patrick directly, and when he came back, he told me that Patrick said, “If you want a full refund, you have to return the keys now and leave.” I decided not to leave that night, since security had reassured us we could stay until morning, and I planned to deal with the front desk again in the morning. But instead, at 3 AM, we were woken by three doorbell rings. Patrick came with a police officer to remove us from the villa. It was deeply distressing and completely unnecessary. To make matters worse, Patrick later tried to claim he had told the booking agent that if we didn’t return the keys, he would call the police — which was not true, the agent didn’t say that, If that was true, he should have called the police right then around 12, and he should of told us Directly, not waited three hours to terrorize us out of our sleep. It felt like an abuse of power. I booked this resort based on glowing online reviews and influencer recommendations, but my experience as a paying guest was completely different. I would not recommend this place based on the lack of professionalism, customer service, or cleanliness.
