Reno, Nevada: Casino City with Arts and Outdoor Adventure

Reno lives up to its billing as “The Biggest Little City in the World" thanks to its flashy casinos, cultural centers, and restaurants worthy of a much larger metropolis, all packed together on Virginia Street. If you need a break from courting Lady Luck at the big gaming palaces such as Circus Circus and Harrah's (which was born here), head to the Truckee River Arts District to explore the Nevada Museum of Art and the National Automobile Museum. Because of its location at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and just east of Tahoe National Forest, the city also puts visitors within reach of rushing rivers and high mountain ranges for hiking, rafting, and gold-rush reenacting.

4.8… We enjoyed our room, it was overall, what we expected. The pool experience was a lot of fun (family friendly). We ate at Rosie’s and the Island grill and enjoyed the meals we had, would definitely recommend. The downfalls were, we never received the resort credit included with this package . It was unclear how to use it, and the slots were freezing cold lol. Overall a great time!

When my flight was canceled, they let me check in my room and gave me an extended checkout time as a courtesy.

I enjoyed my time I like the Nugget and have a great time there. I did not win a lot but the staff and amenities were nice. I really like that they picked me up from airport on a shuttle. John Flores, (not sure of spelling )was a great driver who gave us ideas and helped with our bags.

Still my go-to Hotel Review is for 2 trips last month and this past weekend starting Thursday. Both times rooms were spotless upon check in. Mariah at the front desk was super friendly and checked me in as requested and quickly on Thursday. They now put a few small bottles of water. I generally just refill them as needed from the cold Reno tap water. It's good. No in-room coffee but Starbucks is right near the elevators. I did not use maid service either time so no comment besides they woke me at 8:30AM yelling "Housekeeping" in the hallway then vacuuming nearby. I had silence the first trip and noisy people across the hall at midnight one night this trip. Stopped around 12:30 AM. Wor Wonton soup at Island Grill was good and came quickly. Food at the Oyster bar was good but service was pretty slow. The poor woman seems to run the whole place. Rosies has extended hours and is better staffed but they removed their awesome Cheeseburgers, Ruben sandwhich and Prime Rib. Kinda bummed. Beef dip was just OK. Restaurant staff was friendly. Dealers are generally friendly. Bartenders work hard and kept me happy. Max was nice to chat with. Video poker was surprisingly loose both trips and I won at Blackjack both trips. Kinda bummed as a decade of room comps seems to have ended. Hoping to get that restored. This last trip I didn't play as much as usual due to back pain. The crowd seems to have gone more upscale since prices have increased and the bar in the back was removed. Zero losers roaming around in all 6 nights like in the past. Floors areas and public bathrooms were exceptionally clean.

Poor, with many extra charges They charge $5.99 to charge your room, an extra $10. To have coffee in room, a high resort fee and the WiFi is intermittent. I would not recommend this hotel. No matter what you ask for it is usually No. . There are better places to stay in the area.
