Reno, Nevada: Casino City with Arts and Outdoor Adventure

Reno lives up to its billing as “The Biggest Little City in the World" thanks to its flashy casinos, cultural centers, and restaurants worthy of a much larger metropolis, all packed together on Virginia Street. If you need a break from courting Lady Luck at the big gaming palaces such as Circus Circus and Harrah's (which was born here), head to the Truckee River Arts District to explore the Nevada Museum of Art and the National Automobile Museum. Because of its location at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and just east of Tahoe National Forest, the city also puts visitors within reach of rushing rivers and high mountain ranges for hiking, rafting, and gold-rush reenacting.

4.8… We enjoyed our room, it was overall, what we expected. The pool experience was a lot of fun (family friendly). We ate at Rosie’s and the Island grill and enjoyed the meals we had, would definitely recommend. The downfalls were, we never received the resort credit included with this package . It was unclear how to use it, and the slots were freezing cold lol. Overall a great time!

When my flight was canceled, they let me check in my room and gave me an extended checkout time as a courtesy.

Beware $45/night resort fee When I tried to check in they extorted me for an additional $45. This was not disclosed and ended up making the room not competitive for the area. I had already paid for the "room" though and had really no choice but to pay it. My advice is to avoid the Nugget unless you want to pay $45 more per night than what you expect.

Pictures say alot Always stay at Nugget. Dated yes. Fun usually food normally ok. Not this trip used my free nights. My Friend and I got migraine headaches from the noise coming through a hole in the wall at the window frame. When I pulled the curtain back for day light the blue tape came ripping off the wall it was stuck to the curtains. Head of housekeeping came in took the tape told his partner and said (unbelievable I can't bend this!) so they put us in a new room offered us an extra night to rest but made us pay $235 because it was Fri. So I wasted 3 nights and In stead of giving us a comp back they charged us. The building inspector would of had fun with the wind blowing through the hole in the wall. They didn't care. We had 2 sleepless night on my comps oh joy. Good at oyster bar becoming less in quality they didn't even have any bread to go with our soup sold out they said? Seriously?

Don't expect your deposit back right away. And don't expect any hot water or water pressure either. Getting the deposit back is impossible. Nobody will listen to you everybody keeps giving me lip service. I have spent day after day after day trying to get a hold of anybody that even oversees the hotel which is again next to impossible. If you're trying to get your deposit back at the time of check out then this is not the place you want to stay. Customer service is absolutely lacking. No coffee pots in the rooms when I requested one they told me I had to pay $10 for it. When I asked for more coffee they told me that a refill was an additional $8. Not to mention there's no hot water or even water pressure in the showers at all. For what it costs after the resort fees and the taxes and all the other hidden fees that are included in your time of stay, you'd be better off going to the Ramada or the econo lodge. Especially if budget is an issue. Don't come here looking for five star service just because it's a big hotel. That's not what you're going to get.
