Hotel at a Glance: Old Stone Inn

The historical Old Stone Inn Boutique Hotel is set in the Fallsview Boulevard district of Niagara Falls. Located across the street from the 775-foot Skylon Tower and just a short walk from an IMAX theater and the Guinness World Records Museum, the inn is a quiet contrast to its flashy neighbors. Built as a flour mill in 1904, the inn feels elegant and old-fashioned, thanks to its stone walls, brass chandeliers, and antique furnishings. While staying here, you may forget you’re near one of North America’s busiest tourist attractions.

  • Where you’ll stay: Guest rooms exude historical elegance, while still supporting complimentary WiFi and a flat-screen TV. In Main Mill rooms, you’ll find plush robes and slippers awaiting you.
  • Grab a gourmet bite: With this Getaway, you’ll get a C$10 breakfast credit and a C$20 dining credit (with the purchase of two entrees; valid for dinner only) at the onsite Flour Mill Restaurant and a C$20 dining credit at the nearby Meat Market Restaurant (with the purchase of two entrees).
  • Raise a glass This deal includes three winery tours for two, drawing from the nearby Niagara-on-the-Lake region. Try the icewine—it’s a local specialty.
  • Court Lady Luck by playing the slot machines and roulette tables at Fallsview Casino, which is only about a block away.

Niagara Falls, Ontario: Panoramic Views of the Falls near Vegas-Style Casinos and Water Parks

At Niagara Falls—considered by many to be one of the world’s seven natural wonders—water thunders downward from a height of nearly 200 feet, crashing onto craggy boulders below. The falls straddle the border between Canada and the United States, with segments located in both New York and Ontario, but the Canadian side of the Niagara River is universally hailed as the finest vantage point to take in all three of Niagara Falls’ photogenic brinks: American, Bridal Veil, and Horseshoe Falls.

Hornblower cruises ferry raincoat-clad passengers around the base of the falls from April through October, depending on the river’s ice conditions. Year-round, Journey Behind the Falls grants a glimpse behind the curtain of Horseshoe Falls—board an elevator that descends 150 feet into the bedrock, then stand at an observation deck steps away from the cascading water.

A 10-minute walk from the falls, you’ll see the neon glow of the Clifton Hill neighborhood. Its Fallsview Boulevard has plenty of Vegas-style kitsch, including glitzy casinos, indoor water parks, and restaurants.

Charming Boutique Hotel We recently stayed at the Old Stone Inn after attending the "Cool as Ice" Icewine Gala, and it was a delightful experience. The decor is charming, and the rooms are beautifully appointed, making our stay very comfortable. As locals, this was a perfect short getaway. The ambiance of the inn provided a wonderful escape, even though we were close to home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy and elegant retreat in Niagara Falls!

Never again We rented 2 rooms on a Tuesday night they said no stores. Get there and staff not friendly . Lobby inside cute very old on outside for the price . We had 2 wheelchairs and were told it’s not many stairs for a wheelchair then they change rooms which required 3 steps again we couldn’t do. Changed us again and got room at back which had bugs , air was not cool enough. Smelt musty . Pillows not comfortable . Said if we went back by 10pm door looks to the area where we need to get to room.$918 for 2 rooms we were at the point to book another hotel .
