The staff was super friendly & accommodating. The best part about this resort would hands down be the food & drinks. The seafood & fruit was always super fresh. The area of the bay where we were located is definitely off the beaten path but for us, it was exactly what we wanted. We wanted a relaxing atmosphere without all the noise & crowds you usually see with larger resorts. Definitely recommend

Quiet relaxing getaway w/ just enough fun This is a nice relaxing spot to get away. The casita (your own spacious little house) has everything you need. The resort is small compared to other all inclusive resorts, but this is why it feels much more personalized. For instance, with any excursion you want to take advantage of, they will take care of everything - driving you there, arranging for a private guide, etc. They're not just scheduling the excursion. For this reason, the groups are relatively small (4-8) & it's more like a personal excursion. The guides go out of their way to make sure you get the most out of the experience. It's also why I highly recommend taking advantage of the excursions. What this place isn't, it's not a party/night time spot. The casitas are actually someone's home so it's not the "glittery" 5 star luxury resort (no luxury linens, deorations) BUT they deliver on what counts - really good, fresh food & good staff that deliver the best service possible. If you don't see it, just ask. They will do what they can. Lastly, the resort is also home/gated community to a sizeable snowbird population (people who live here in the winter). A very friendly group who are happy to invite you over for a game of pickleball! P.S. The water is crystal clear & the sand is super fine/soft. I've been to a lot of beaches & the sand here is the finest/softest & clean! However, it's not really for swimming because it's quite shallow. However, you can kayak & paddleboard!

Tranquil relaxation Orchid Bay Resort is located on the Caribbean Sea in Northern Belize, in the Corozal District near Chunox Village. The resort is situated in a marine sanctuary with clear, sargassum-free waters. After under 2 hours’ drive from the Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE) via the newer superhighway our driver Andre from the Orchid Bay Resort picked us up. On our way to the resort a long the way we saw a lot of sugarcane farms, live stock and small fruit stands along the way. Andre is one of Orchid Bay Resort stuff, we chit chat along the way. We went through some dirt road off the expressway into the resort. We finally got to resort Tradewinds Beach Bar & Restaurant also the office where guest will check in, and booking other excursions or tours. After Checkin, We ate right there at Tradewinds. We bought 2 all-inclusive deal vouchers from Travelzoo. Each voucher for 3 days with Garden Cabanas deal. We upgrade to Beach Cabanas close to the bay with $40 extra per night. Orchid Bay Resort is beautiful, luscious green gardens, coconut trees, and variety type of orchids. Orchid Bay Resort is a combination of individual casitas, owned by individual that put it for rent while the he/she went back home for a period of time. It’s a community, HOA type. David and his wife Damaris manage Orchid Bay Resort. Orchid Bay resort is small. Nothing much to do at the resort besides enjoying complimentary non-motorised activities like Kayaks, paddleboards, bicycles. Kayaks and paddleboards are old, and missing parts, not enough paddle for kayaks or paddleboards. They do have a a small pool, which we never seen anyone clean, plus it’s dirty. We enjoy the remote, richly natural setting, nature and outdoor experiences. We enjoy the sunset almost every day when we’re there. Tradewinds Bar and Grill emphasizes farm-to-table cuisine, local seafood (hog fish, lobster, conch) and Belizean flavour. The price of the foods is reasonable, large potion when you orders. You can do take-out or just eat at the restaurant. The service is ok, sometimes it feels like we bothered them. Shout out to David, Damaris, Derwin, and Brainy and others plus the kitchen stuff for the great foods. Orchid Bay do offers All-inclusive package available for adults (19+), including unlimited drinks (beer/wine/cocktails), meals, and use of certain resort amenities. Orchid Bay has a relaxed, nature-oriented luxury feel — you’ll find stylish thatched-roof cabanas and upscale condos in a somewhat remote, richly natural setting. The emphasis is on comfort, nature and outdoor experiences rather than high-density resort glamour. The Garden Cabanas ~1,100 sq ft, Mayan-inspired design, one bedroom + futon, screened lanai, full kitchen, WiFi, A/C. Beach Cabanas: Similar size but closer to the sea (steps away 2A casita is right close to the pier). Beachfront Condos: ~1,550 sq ft, two bedrooms/bathrooms, full kitchen, washer/dryer, balcony or patio on the south side of the Orchid Bay Casita about 2 minutes walk. 2A casita is a bit dated, need a few upgrade like shower head in the bathroom, no water pressure, and it dirty. Floor mat worn out, exterior needs a bit of care. At orchid Bay you can book your excursions for snorkelling off the Northern part of the Belize Barrier Reef, visiting the Lamanai Maya Ruins, cave-tubing, bird-watching, wildlife tours. if you’re looking for a tranquil beach escape with opportunities for snorkelling, wildlife and natural surroundings, and willing to trade a bit of convenience this is the place for you. We like Orchid Bay Resort, because it’s quiet, peaceful, remote relaxation in nature form, birds singing, as a nature alarm. At night you go out of your casita and look at the millions of stars that you can’t do in the big city. It’s an experience, adventure at Orchid Bay Resort. We would recommend to family and friends only if they like the tranquil, and remote setting. Would we going back to Orchid Bay Resort ? May be - only shorter stay.

Hidden Gem!!! We took this trip on a whim having never been to Belize before. We figured this was just one resort along with many others but soon found that it was a hidden gem in northern Belize. It was secluded and far from the more commercialized parts of Belize. Wonderful staff, incredible food, awesome casitas instead of a room in a hotel. Incredible! The resort is not huge so there were times that we were the only ones on the private beach! We did one of the boat excursions the resort offers and toured some Mayan ruins. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the tour. This trip was so much more than we had hoped for and we hope very much to return!
