The Las Vegas Strip: 24/7 Entertainment and Fine Dining

With an almost unlimited variety of casinos, bars and nightclubs, and live entertainment, the general consensus along the Las Vegas Strip seems to be “go big or go home.” And you can go really big here. Make a beeline for the dozens of 24-hour casinos lining the neon-lit Strip to tango with Lady Luck in high-stakes games of roulette, blackjack, and poker. Be sure to stick around for mealtimes—casinos on the Strip are known for their fine-dining restaurants and extravagant buffets overflowing with crab legs and prime rib.

Even Sin City isn’t all casinos, all the time. Go shopping at the high-end boutiques found inside most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, or head to Fashion Show Las Vegas to browse racks at Neiman Marcus, Macy’s, and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can also virtually travel the globe in just a few city blocks, thanks to the Strip’s re-creation of the Statue of Liberty, the Eiffel Tower, and Venetian canals. And you’ll find a surprising number of activities in Las Vegas for kids hidden amid the raucous nightlife.

Very happy with our stay at the Oyo. Checked in without a problem, helped by Allen at the front desk, he gave us all our perks of our Groupon purchase. Enjoyed our amenities, the pool was amazing. The parking was easy to find. Will definitely be back to stay here for more fun when in LV!

Beware of this hotel! I was charged a $500 tax because I was told I was smoking in my room, which is non-smoking. Obviously, I'm a non-smoker, I didn't smoke in my room and it's impossible to negotiate with the staff, who rely on sensors in the room and whose readings you can have at the time the incident was detected. Obviously, the statements were totally inconsistent with reality, and as the statement dated from 4:20 in the morning, I was asleep! I strongly advise against this hotel, it's an absolute rip-off, I couldn't get my tax refund (which I call a rip-off, a theft) despite reporting the incident to the hotel reception. Beware like the plague of this hotel and their false incidents to force you to pay non-existent taxes! What's more, the shower was not clean and there was no hot water.

We won't be back anytime soon. Wednesday morning none of the 3 elevators to ocean view worked. So we had to take a different elevator to the 10th floor and climb 6 floors on foot. We're able to do that, but what would someone in a wheelchair have done? I can understand 1 elevator being out of service, but when it's 2 or 3, someone is being neglectful. The lady who checked us in wrote a 6 tilted about 90 to the left, which looked like a 4 to me. So we spent an hour trying to get into room 1449 when we had actually been assigned to 1649. One of the sliding doors to the closet got off track every time we tried to use it. The ice machine on the 16th floor didn't work for the first 3 nights of our stay. I saw $5 craps advertised, which interested me. But I didn't even once see the craps table open for business. The construction noise from the west began early in the morning, and the windows seemed to be too thin to provide much buffering. The toilet and the sink both had drainage issues. On the positive side, the view of the city to the west was great. And the shower was hot, had a good strong stream and a nice flat floor. But we won't be back anytime soon.

Ok hotel if it is a budget option when booking. It won't be the best you've had. It's an ok hotel. I have stayed in much worse hotels. The biggest issue was the elevators being down. It sounds like there has only been one elevator functioning for a year or more. I spent at least an hour and a half waiting for it in the 4 days I was there. There were some crumbs left on the table and the room has some dust bunnies pushed up against the bed frame. Generally clean and was surprised after reading the reviews. Staff is generally good and friendly. The beds are cheap hotel beds. I could feel the springs inside the mattress. If it was the cheapest option again, I would consider it but many times if you wait to book you could stay elsewhere for the same or less.
