I think it was a cute hotel... in the center of the city were all the action is. Groupon offered a good price. Only negative was the lighting in the bed and bathroom. Also the fact that you can hear your hotel neighbors. But I would def go back there!

Manhattan's Midtown West: Edgy, Urban Vibe with Lots of Restaurants

Though it's a stone's throw from top attractions such as Central Park, Broadway, and Radio City Music Hall, Midtown West can feel a little grittier and less developed than some of the surrounding NYC neighborhoods. Stretching roughly from 59th to 29th Street and the Hudson River to 8th Avenue (though some say it continues as far east as Madison Avenue), Midtown West lacks the chain restaurants of Times Square and the large department stores of 5th Avenue. Instead, you can find neighborhood markets, cafes, and walk-up row houses.

Midtown West is also known as Hell's Kitchen, a nod to the numerous restaurants that serve everything from Asian street food to fine French cuisine. The neighborhood's eateries and bars are especially concentrated along 9th and 10th Avenues, and it's easy to walk between them all.

Being alone!! Proximity to Times Square was great. Early morning Construction outside the second floor window was not. Room was fine, clean, and worth the discounted Groupon prices.

THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN Disgraceful treatment, liars, shameless staff. A dirty, run-down hotel in terrible condition, practically abandoned. Tiny rooms with no working heating. Room service does not do its job at all. Please DO NOT stay at this hotel under any circumstances. We spent 7 days there over Christmas, paid a very high price because of its location, and the service was not just bad — it was completely non-existent. Dirty hotel: elevators went days without being cleaned; walls, carpets and armchairs were filthy and disgusting to sit on; peeling walls, dirty and clearly not painted in a very long time. During a one-week stay, our room was not cleaned and towels were not changed for 4 days. The heating did not work (NY temperatures were between -1°C and -9°C all week). It wasn’t until the 4th day that they provided us with a heater, which was completely insufficient to warm the room. We asked to speak to the manager 4 times. Even after going at the times we were told, the manager never showed up. We filed a complaint and were told we would be refunded part of the cost for services not provided — which, of course, never happened. The email address on their website does not work, so you cannot contact them. When you call, the responsible staff never answer. We also filed a complaint with the agency we booked through, and they were not attended to either. This hotel should be fined and shut down for scamming customers — charging for services they do not provide and do not deliver, but still collect payment for. SHAMELESS.
