Great hotel right on the ocean. They even let us upgrade to balcony room once we we got there. Even though it’s an older hotel, the rooms were clean and beautiful. Housekeeping service was great. A lot of luxury for the price.

Laguna Beach, California: Seaside Art Community with Cliffside Mansions and Tide Pools

Laguna Beach is widely known as an affluent seaside community just off the iconic Pacific Coast Highway, thanks in part to the MTV reality show Laguna Beach. The Orange County city has its fair share of elaborate mansions, high-end boutiques, and upscale restaurants, but what sets Laguna Beach apart is its artistic scene. The city’s artistic community is set mainly in the Laguna Village neighborhood, where visitors can browse galleries and watch artisans working in their studios.

In typical Southern California fashion, visitors are drawn to the city’s Main Beach, where they lounge by the ocean and play volleyball along the boardwalk. Toward the beach’s north end lies Bird Rock, a towering rock formation where seabirds often gather. Sea slugs, red urchins, and sea cucumbers can be spotted swimming in the tide pools around the rock when the tide ebbs.

So disappointing it's frustrating Rude front desk at check in - Surprise mandatory $45 per day valet; when there are plenty of empty parking spaces on the property - terrible AC and spaces heaters?!? Extension cords ran all over the room. - Billed the wrong card - just complete disappointment. If you plan to rest in your room when you travel. this is NOT the place - too noisy - better choice south of this location for less money

Ocean views are the best Irene at the front desk was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we arrived, she was so friendly, patient, and genuinely accommodating. She went above and beyond to make sure we were able to stay on the top floor right under the ocean — the view was incredible and truly made our weekend extra special. We already love this place, but Irene’s kindness and attention to detail set our entire weekend up stupendously. She made everything seamless and welcoming. Thank you, Irene, for such outstanding service — we can’t wait to come back

Last stay of many due to a horrific experience Have been staying here since 2012 regularly. This visit is my last. Room was dirty, had spiders and ants (photos attached), guests a few doors down had cops called but were allowed to stay, phone didnt work, and mold or dust caused a major allergic reaction in my entire family who normally doesn’t have allergies. Front desk put an incorrect amount on my card, admitted to it, and didn’t apologize.
