Hotel at a Glance: Paradise Stream

Paradise Stream is nestled amid the forests, lakes, and peaks of northeastern Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. The 1960s brought a flood of publicity for the area that resulted in the Poconos being named the “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” Paradise Stream still maintains that romantic feel; it’s an adults-only property, and many guest rooms still have the heart-shaped tubs that made the resort famous.

  • Get physical with numerous activities including hiking, basketball, and tennis.
  • Indoor activities: duckpin bowling, swimming and hot tub, ping pong, air hockey, video arcade games, billiards,, and fitness equipment.
  • Outdoor fun" bicycling, archery, lawn games, pedal boats, fishing, miniature golf, pickleball
  • Couples massage: unwind in the spa with relaxing body and facial treatments (extra fees apply).
  • Step onto the dance floor at Paradise Stream’s nightclub.

Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains: Hiking, Trout Fishing, and Historical Towns

The Poconos region of northeastern Pennsylvania accounts for some 2,400 square miles of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and forests. The area has been a popular vacation destination ever since Pennsylvania Quakers opened a hotel here on the Delaware River in 1829. Today, the Poconos draw more than 25 million annual visitors, thanks to year-round recreational opportunities and stunning natural scenery.

The warmer months are a great time to explore the region’s lakes and wooded hills. For spectacular hikes, check out Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, where you can trek to dramatic waterfalls or follow a 27-mile section of the historic Appalachian Trail. A handful of little towns full of antique shops and galleries nestle in the mountains, too. You'll find boutique wine galleries and historical mansions tucked away on country roads, including the late 19th-century Asa Packer Mansion, which is open for tours, in the borough of Jim Thorpe.

Fun, relaxing, and tons of quality time activities for my marriage. Cool vibes all the time. Most people are friendly and down to earth . The staff is always super friendly. Any requests we had they did their best to make it happen. House keeping only serviced the room once. We stayed 3 nights. But brought towels per request. We come here twice a year so we have seen the changes. I appreciate them trying to change up the entertainment. Some comedians bombed. But Kareem Green had me crying. DJs were good. Trex and TJ. Enjoyed TJ's Michael Jackson show. Meghan continues to put her all into the activities. I really enjoyed the dessert bar this time. Was a fantastic variety of desserts to choose from. The dinner specials on V Day were incredible. My wife went with the steak oscar, which she really enjoyed, and I got my favorite the Lobster Ravioli. Front desk staff , all of them, friendly and helpful. They did start to carry almond milk which is appreciated for those that cannot handle dairy. All waiters were good and friendly. Jason is always helpful and goes above and beyond. I can't see how anyone can complain about any of the staff. Customer service here is it's top quality. We stayed in the Diana's Oasis , the room was in good shape. Some small cosmetic issues. Also an exposed, although coated and safe, wire was run on top of the tile in the pool. This needs to be repaired and hidden properly or covered. 511 . Pool was warm. Room was super clean. Mirrors were spotless. We really enjoyed the cooking show. Was something different and fun. You really could tell everything was cleaned well. In all we had a great Valentine's day. My recommendation would be to vet the entertainment a bit better. Maybe use your CXO or staff? Continue with the dessert bar every weekend . Ice cream bar? Keep the dessert variety available. And continue working on cosmetic issues in rooms. Also remove disruptive, drunk hecklers asap . They aren't helpful or fun for the comedians or anyone for that matter. We will return in October and look forward to it. Hope to continue to see improvements happening. Thanks Paradise Stream for a great V Day! One more thing. As a fire inspector I would be remiss if I didn't mention a sign should be posted above the bathroom heater in the Diana's Oasis. The towel rack hangs close by and this could easily start a fire if something was to be hung there with the heater going. It almost happened. Please be safe.
