Hotel at a Glance: Paradise Stream

Paradise Stream is nestled amid the forests, lakes, and peaks of northeastern Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. The 1960s brought a flood of publicity for the area that resulted in the Poconos being named the “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” Paradise Stream still maintains that romantic feel; it’s an adults-only property, and many guest rooms still have the heart-shaped tubs that made the resort famous.

  • Get physical with numerous activities including hiking, basketball, and tennis.
  • Indoor activities: racquetball, swimming, and game room.
  • Couples massage: unwind in the spa with relaxing body and facial treatments (extra fees apply).
  • Step onto the dance floor at Paradise Stream’s nightclub.

Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains: Hiking, Trout Fishing, and Historical Towns

The Poconos region of northeastern Pennsylvania accounts for some 2,400 square miles of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and forests. The area has been a popular vacation destination ever since Pennsylvania Quakers opened a hotel here on the Delaware River in 1829. Today, the Poconos draw more than 25 million annual visitors, thanks to year-round recreational opportunities and stunning natural scenery.

The warmer months are a great time to explore the region’s lakes and wooded hills. For spectacular hikes, check out Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, where you can trek to dramatic waterfalls or follow a 27-mile section of the historic Appalachian Trail. A handful of little towns full of antique shops and galleries nestle in the mountains, too. You'll find boutique wine galleries and historical mansions tucked away on country roads, including the late 19th-century Asa Packer Mansion, which is open for tours, in the borough of Jim Thorpe.

Great place. 10/10. We have been in Diana’s Oasis for two days, and it was so sad to leave the place. Great area, staff, and the entertainments as well, they invited a comedian in there we had a laugh. Great place. Thank you.

Honeymoon 2025 We stayed here for our honeymoon. Love the room set up. Loved all the activities offered. We paid in advance for all our meals. Would only recommend breakfast. Our only complaint was the food. Breakfast was ok. The usual stuff. Not much to talk about. Dinner was not great. I’m not a big complainer but the food was terrible. Staff was friendly and seemed happy with their jobs. Location was great. Lots of eateries/groceries/liquor store etc nearby. Overall, we loved it here and would definitely return.

Wonderful relaxing getaway with great people and food Could not ask for a better 3 days away. The employees there are very polite and make your stay relaxing. The dinner selection, bar/grill and breakfast were tremendous. Haven't eaten that well in awhile. Room had some updates, needs a few things better updated (running toilet), but overall just a great stay and wonderful time.

Very Dirty and needs significant remodel This has been my second time at Paradise Stream. The cleanliness was extremely poor. There was dirt on the sides of the pool. There was faded paint and chipping off paint. There were cracks in a lot of the tiles .The bathroom sink was forever clogged and wouldn’t allow for drainage. They only gave us two towels in the beginning and when we asked for more, gave us extra towels, but acted like it was an inconvenience. The in room sauna did not heat up. The activities were very lacking. We were unable to use the paddle boards or kayaks and a lot of the amenities that they said were included. We’re just poor condition. On the good side, the bed was comfortable. The food was good. The wait staff was extremely good and I liked how they gave us full glasses of orange juice at breakfast. The drink menu was flavorful, but I’m not sure I would go back again with a significant update and insurance that the cleanliness was top-notch
