Hotel at a Glance: Paradise Stream

Paradise Stream is nestled amid the forests, lakes, and peaks of northeastern Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains. The 1960s brought a flood of publicity for the area that resulted in the Poconos being named the “Honeymoon Capital of the World.” Paradise Stream still maintains that romantic feel; it’s an adults-only property, and many guest rooms still have the heart-shaped tubs that made the resort famous.

  • Get physical with numerous activities including hiking, basketball, and tennis.
  • Indoor activities: duckpin bowling, swimming and hot tub, ping pong, air hockey, video arcade games, billiards,, and fitness equipment.
  • Outdoor fun" bicycling, archery, lawn games, pedal boats, fishing, miniature golf, pickleball
  • Couples massage: unwind in the spa with relaxing body and facial treatments (extra fees apply).
  • Step onto the dance floor at Paradise Stream’s nightclub.

Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains: Hiking, Trout Fishing, and Historical Towns

The Poconos region of northeastern Pennsylvania accounts for some 2,400 square miles of mountains, lakes, waterfalls, and forests. The area has been a popular vacation destination ever since Pennsylvania Quakers opened a hotel here on the Delaware River in 1829. Today, the Poconos draw more than 25 million annual visitors, thanks to year-round recreational opportunities and stunning natural scenery.

The warmer months are a great time to explore the region’s lakes and wooded hills. For spectacular hikes, check out Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, where you can trek to dramatic waterfalls or follow a 27-mile section of the historic Appalachian Trail. A handful of little towns full of antique shops and galleries nestle in the mountains, too. You'll find boutique wine galleries and historical mansions tucked away on country roads, including the late 19th-century Asa Packer Mansion, which is open for tours, in the borough of Jim Thorpe.

Step up from camping The staff is courteous, enthusiastic, and attentive. Evening entertainment varies. The grounds are clean but parts of the property are in disrepair. Food is good. We like this place, especially the Lakeside villas, if we think of it as a step up from camping. Kind of like to hanging at a cabin in the woods and spending time outside. If expecting luxury, you’re likely to be disappointed. But for what it is, it’s enjoyable, a low key mini getaway and some time outside.

Pleased but disappointed 1999 forever lover review As a forever lover since 1999 I can see some improvements to the grounds but more needs to be updated in the rooms. The television is a nice touch but more needs to be done with some of the leather sofas that are cracked. The shower heads don’t offer much of an option as well. The food has some nice upgrades My main concern is there appears to be a lack of entertainment during the week. Also NO SNACKING OPTIONS offered durning night club hours. Administratively this does not make sense because you are serving alcoholic beverages. People need snacks on their stomachs at those times. Whether a steady popcon , pretzels some snack option etc option or kitchen options after 8pm there was nothing and the gift shop was closed THIS needs to be fixed!
