Room clean but dont prepay in full! Check your invoice carefully. We prepaid our room and our friends prepaid their room also in full, hotel took our credit cards for incidentals when we arrived. Both our ftiends and us were charged full price AGAIN on the cards that we produced when we arrived! The next day we tried to report it to the Lobby but no one was there, we left messages all day. Finally got an answer late afternoon but nxt day at check out we had not been refunded. They said they will report it to mgr and that this happens with debit cards. We will have to chk w our bank again on Monday! Purchased wine from lobby watch out. The bed is comfy, room clean.

Pelican Inn Mostly Great! Our room was very nice. A king suite with a partial ocean view but actually a great ocean view. The fireplace was a really nice touch. We brought our 2 dogs and so did a lot of other people. Cambria is very dog friendly so expect to see a lot of dogs. Yes, even at hotels. My only complaint was although the ocean was across the street and the boardwalk was fabulous, at the hotel there was NOWHERE for a dog to go potty. Sure there were shrubs and small patches of dirt but the street was busy and walking up and down it at 10pm was a little nutty. I don’t think a dog going potty on the boardwalk is nice and I didn’t want to walk my dog super far away from the hotel at night with very little light. Only other comment was loud neighbors above who apparently needed to get in their steps in very late at night. All the rest was great and as usual, Cambria and the surrounding area was fantastic.

Good value for the price The staff at the hotel were always friendly and helpful. The fireplace in the room did not work, it wasn't especially cold, but I like the fireplace for the ambiance. My room was in the third building, upper floor, and even though near the back, provided a good view of the ocean.

No Customer Service! We headed to Pelican for the first time this past weekend. And although we love their sister property FogCatcher, we will never be back to Pelican. On our way to Cambria, we received this text: We look forward to welcoming you at Pelican Inn and Suites. Check-in begins at 4PM. Anything you need before, during, or after your stay, send us a text or call us at 805-927-1500. We’ll see you soon! Since checkin began at 4, we stopped in town for an early dinner which put us at the hotel a little after 530. When we went to check in we were met with a note on the door that said “Office Closed. Be back at 645.” 645p was an hour away! Luckily we had received a text with a phone number. After a number of calls to this number, someone finally unlocked the door at 630p for a number of waiting patrons. There was no coffee, water or snacks available in the lobby. No call or text apologizing for leaving us locked out of the property for over an hour. No such thing as customer service anymore. Topped it off with rude employees at the desk.

Great room, great view I really enjoyed my stay here. The location is fantastic, just across the street from the beach and the boardwalk where you can walk and walk and walk. My room was really lovely, very spacious and comfortable. I had a beautiful view of the water from my room and also the incredible sunset. The bed was very comfortable and I slept very well. Checking in was easy and everyone I dealt with there was friendly, patient, and helpful. I had always stayed in town in my previous visits to Cambria, but from now on will only be staying at the Pelican Inn!
