Haliburton County, Ontario: Scenic Setting for Outdoor Fun

Dubbed the “Haliburton Highlands” for its resemblance to the Scottish Highlands and its settlers’ Scottish ancestry, Haliburton County covers a scenic swath of Central Ontario about 200 km northeast of Toronto. Crest its hills and you’ll discover dozens of natural spring-fed lakes, excellent hiking trails, and quaint towns with an artistic temperament. At the Haliburton Sculpture Forest, 21 statues from area artists are scattered along a walking path in a maple forest.
