The hotel is ideal for travelers on the go who are looking for the bare necessities and friendly staff available to answer inquiries for locals and novices to NYC alike.

Manhattan's Midtown West: Edgy, Urban Vibe with Lots of Restaurants

Though it's a stone's throw from top attractions such as Central Park, Broadway, and Radio City Music Hall, Midtown West can feel a little grittier and less developed than some of the surrounding NYC neighborhoods. Stretching roughly from 59th to 29th Street and the Hudson River to 8th Avenue (though some say it continues as far east as Madison Avenue), Midtown West lacks the chain restaurants of Times Square and the large department stores of 5th Avenue. Instead, you can find neighborhood markets, cafes, and walk-up row houses. Midtown West is also known as Hell's Kitchen, a nod to the numerous restaurants that serve everything from Asian street food to fine French cuisine. The neighborhood's eateries and bars are especially concentrated along 9th and 10th Avenues, and it's easy to walk between them all.

Room was tiny but comfortable beds, no bugs 😁. Each bunk had it's own TV, however ours didn't have any signal. Shower was glorious. Loved the ability to open windows for ventilation. Separating the sleeping area from the bathroom are sliding glass doors, partially frosted in the middle, so privacy was limited. Small room but big enough, would stay again.

A wonderful experience ay Pod 39 in New York City. Pod 39 in NYC is a fabulous hotel! I have stayed there many times, and every time it's been a great experience. This last visit, I requested to change rooms. The front desk management did not question me or try to change my mind. They immediately responded and even provided me with a better room. I love how they put me first. It's the way hotels should treat their guests. I will continue to stay at Pod 39 on my regular trips to NY and recommend them to my work colleagues and friends. Bravo and keep up the great work! The rooms are great, efficient and very quiet.

Great place for solo travelers! I booked Pod 39 for price and location, and based on the positive reviews. I can confirm the hype. As a solo female traveler the space was perfect. I booked the full room, and although space around the bed was limited, they maximize it very well with a storage bed frame with a drawer for clothes, and open space to hide your luggage. The built in nightstands also gave even more floor space to tuck things. The bed was comfortable with fluffy pillows and comforter. The bathroom had a built in shelf to put out all products, and the fact that the mounted mirror extended to the shower meant I could multitask in the shower even easier. Water was hot, with a couple busy times when it was warm due to high usage. Everything was clean, and felt freshly done or brand new. Also, as a solo female traveler, I felt very safe walking in the neighborhood. Flew into LaGuardia and was able to easily travel on the LaGuardia link bus (free!), to the 7 train to get off just a few blocks from the hotel. Super convenient. You’re close enough to all the things in NYC, but far enough from the chaos and loud tourism, and in a safe space. I will definitely book again for future NYC stays, and recommend to other solo travelers.

What's not to like? Great vibe, good pricing, convenient location.... always clean and comfortable. Pod39 is one of our two go-tos in New York City. The other is the Pod51 ! I've stayed at the Pods for years now; they are my definite go-to because of their pricing, cleanliness, comfort, convenience to everything (including so many dining options, and also to subway and bus.
