Loft-Style Suites with Kosher Amenities in Hip Brooklyn Neighborhood

Old industrial warehouses and luxury high-rises mingle along the East River in Brooklyn, the site of the Williamsburg neighborhood. Once a hotbed of NYC counterculture, this waterfront area is now a trendy landing spot for wealthy Manhattan transplants as well as young bohemians. Despite the area's rapid evolution, various ethnic communities, including a long-standing Hasidic Jewish community, have kept their roots firmly planted there. Pointe Plaza Hotel speaks to Williamsburg's eclectic character; in addition to upscale accommodations, the hotel features an array of kosher amenities.

The hotel's modest four-story façade belies its stylish contemporary interior. You can settle into an executive suite, which features high ceilings and a spacious floor plan that includes a separate living room, a kitchenette with a dining area, and a post-office branch.

Williamsburg, Brooklyn: Ultratrendy Neighborhood Across the East River from Manhattan

In a game of word association, “Williamsburg” is likely to elicit a common response: “hipster.” The popular neighborhood, located opposite Manhattan’s Lower East Side, has become synonymous with young people and bohemian living. This relationship dates as far back as the 1980s, when the first artists and musicians began crossing the East River in search of cheaper rents. In recent years, Williamsburg has gentrified bigtime. And though many artists have now been priced out of the neighborhood, they’ve left behind a dazzling constellation of galleries, music venues, dive bars, and some of New York’s best restaurants.

Though the ultratrendy Williamsburg can feel like it’s a world away from Manhattan, in reality it’s quite close. Three subway lines, the Williamsburg Bridge, and even a water taxi provide easy access to the next borough over. For visual confirmation of Manhattan’s proximity, pay a visit to East River State Park, a 7-acre green space in the northern part of the neighborhood that has sweeping views of the Midtown skyline. Consider swinging by Bedford Avenue for a postpark brunch, or peruse the many dining options available on Grand Street.
