Kissimmee, Florida: Easy Access to World-Famous Theme Parks and Major Orlando Attractions

Located on the banks of Lake Tohopekaliga, Kissimmee sits about 22 miles from downtown Orlando and just 16 miles from the Walt Disney World® Theme Parks. The world’s most-visited entertainment resort spans roughly 30,000 acres, encompassing four theme parks, two water parks, five golf courses, and the Disney Springs® Area. There’s no shortage of things to do here: begin your day at Magic Kingdom® Park by boarding a rocket-shaped three-seater that climbs to 180 feet before entering a deep black tunnel and racing past stars, satellites, and constellations. After that, ride a dune buggy through a haunted mansion. For dinner, head over to Epcot® to sample cuisine from Morocco, Mexico, France, Italy, and several other countries. As one of the most popular family destinations in the world, sunny Orlando is home to other theme parks including Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando.

Those hoping to shake up the typical theme-park-dominated itinerary can head into downtown Orlando’s vibrant arts district. The neighborhood boasts venues such as the CityArts Factory, a multifaceted patchwork of gallery spaces, and SAK Comedy Lab, which holds improv shows five nights a week.

Very clean & spacious rooms My wife and I recently spent 3 nights in this gated resort. We had an extremely pleasant stay. Our room was very large; it had a full kitchen, bedroom w/king bed, 2 full bedrooms, living room and screened in porch. It was more like a condo. In fact, we soon learned this resort actually was a timeshare and many of the residents were long term guests. There are 3 large pools, hot tubs (all very clean), plenty of chairs, tables and lounges. On Tuesday they served snacks, soft drinks and had karaoke at the pool. It was very nice but we felt a little out of place among most of the other guests. Why? We’re in our mid-60’s and felt like a couple teenagers! Not many kids here. No restaurant or on-premise dining areas. However, there’s plenty of restaurants in the area. I definitely recommend this beautiful resort- it’s a great location and very well managed.

Timeshare too pushy Avoid the timeshare desk. Susanna was way too pushy, I ended up canceling my dinner and meeting. I would definitely return but avoid the timeshare desk. Lots of chairs at the pool and it was close to shopping and restaurants.

Polynesian Isles Great vacation spot, even greater staff. The staff were always courteous and helpful. Always smiling. The only negative was Hilton pushing to do a sales trip which we did not want to do. I felt this was invasive.
