Prescott, Arizona: Historical Mountain Town Encircled by Wilderness

A mile up in the mountains of Arizona’s central highlands, Prescott maintains small-town charm with a Wild West touch. Across the street from the courthouse plaza you’ll find the saloons of Whiskey Row—a historical block of bars once frequented by notorious outlaws and cowboys. Push through the swinging doors of the Palace Restaurant and Saloon and you can sit at a bar where Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday were known to wet their whistles.

There’s a ton of outdoor activities here as well. Trek up the steep paved paths of iconic Thumb Butte and pause at the summit for panoramic views, or try your hand at rock climbing at the Granite Mountain Wilderness. About a 10-minute drive north of town, Watson Lake Park is a popular spot for kayaking and fishing. Many families favor the park’s short hiking trails through rocky, high-desert landscapes.

The bed was very comfortable. The extra space in the suite made us feel more relaxed instead of a cramped single room

The Groupon had advertised cocoa and cookies or two and when we arrived it was not available. Upon checking out the manager asked if we had had breakfast yet and walked us over for a complimentary breakfast at the restaurant. We by passed the line waiting to be seated for a delicious breakfast. Thank you to the Prescott Resort and Conference Center for going above and beyond the expectations.

Can’t celebrate here Families of graduates, DON’T GO HERE. They will not let you celebrate in the lobby nor the bar. No food, no drinks, and no flexibility. We refunded and went to Holiday Inn Express. Endorse with your dollars!! Disappointing folks!!! Big mistake.

Not for me… I’ll start by saying the people that work here were friendly and helpful. That’s all I have to say for the pros. The hotel did not live up to the expectations. My husband booked this for our Thanksgiving visit. We walked in and could immediately tell it was a bit run down. The elevator was dingy. My daughter walked into the room and proclaimed “it’s kind of dirty on the walls but not horrible I guess”. Very small tv. Poor WiFi. Stains on the ceiling. The wallpaper is peeling….the list goes on. The carpet is old and the shower smelled awful. We decided to take the kids down to swim and get their wiggles out and the whole pool area is just kind gross with lime scale build up EVERYWHERE. There were a ton of missing tiles in the jacuzzi and our kids went underwater to see all the piles of dirt at the bottom. The cushions in the pool area were torn and dirty, and there was a giant pile of the cushions just piled up on the ground to the side. The towels in the pool area were the size of a large hand towel (not joking at all…dead serious), not to mention they were very worn and ragged. 10/10 not interested in wasting my money so we’re headed to another hotel with hopes that it Will at minimum be cleaner and we can enjoy a vacation that will hopefully meet a modicum of the comfort of home.

Dirty Room, A/C not working THIS WAS THE WORST STAY EVER, I've stayed at this hotel in the past and enjoyed it, but we where there for a family wedding, for 2 nights, when we arrived our room was open, door open, we thought we were in the wrong room, but no that was ours, it seemed whoever was in there used the restroom, carpet was very dirty, smelled, furniture old, pillows, old and smelled, bathroom T.P. dispenser broken, half a roll of T.P. could not find anyone to bring more to our room, Front desk never answered the phone, neither did House Keeping, our A/C did not work 77 degrees in our room, I had to call from my cell phone to the hotel in order to get someone to answer the phone, ridiculous!! I am a Travel Consultant, and I will never recommend this run down smelly hotel, very sad,
