Ocean City, Maryland: Family-Friendly Boardwalk next to the Atlantic

Along Ocean City’s century-old boardwalk, you can savor wild-caught blue crab, play old-fashioned arcade games. The lively boardwalk, which stretches for 3 miles along Maryland’s eastern shore, helped earn Ocean City a spot on USA Today’s list of the "10 great places to have some fun on a boardwalk." Kids can ride a ferris wheel and climb aboard one of the country’s oldest carousels at Trimper’s Amusement Park, a family-owned theme park open for more than 100 years.

Assateague Island National Seashore—a 37-mile stretch of salt marshes running from Ocean City down to Virginia—offers a peaceful reprieve from the boardwalk’s constant activity. The island’s famous wild horses gallop on the shores or hike the seaside forests to spot birds, including great horned owls, ruby-crowned kinglets, and great blue herons.

It just kept getting Greater!! The stay was good and just got GREATER as the weekend progressed. The staff were sooooo nice. There was a small hiccup of a drain that was slightly clogged but maintenance came up immediately and took care of it. On Saturday morning I called and spoke with the Lovely Joanne because I wanted a room with a a balcony and she switched out me and my family with no rebuttal at all. The new room was bigger and it had a nice balcony. The family Loved it and can’t wait to come back for the stay in April. You are were so phenomenal and really made the stay so well worth it! Thanks Again!! The Henry Family Sincerely, Kenneth Henry

Great hotel with a great view! I always booked this hotel for the spring and fall Classic car shows. I get a room with the Bayview and balcony and always have a great time. Also a plus, I can leave my convertible top down with the covered parking.

A nice little vacay spot The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we checked in. They have pots, pans and cutlery at the hotel, but they don’t have dish soap, sponges, or Brillo so I recommend bringing that with you. (They do have a dishwasher.) Sometimes there’s not what you need in your room, like a pan for example, just ask the front desk or any employee and they’ll get it for you. The area is nice too. There’s a private beach on the bayside and the ocean is a couple blocks away. The view is phenomenal. Make sure you get a bayside room with a view. There are supermarkets within driving distance and anything you really need right on the strip. We’ve visited here three times and had a good experience each stay.
