This floor contains JJ Astor a revolving fine-dining eatery that provides beautiful views of Lake Superior and the surrounding town, paired with local seafood fresh from the lake.

  • Share a pint at the onsite Bowery Bros. Pub, where you can also grab a bite.

Duluth, Minnesota: Scenic Town on Lake Superior

Given Duluth’s ample green spaces and scenic waterfront boasting miles of bike paths, it’s easy to see why it was named the “best outdoors town” in America by Outside magazine in 2014. To a great extent, it owes this distinction to its setting on the western shores of Lake Superior, the largest freshwater lake in the world.

The lake is the top draw for most visitors: the Lake Superior Maritime Visitor Center greets more than 400,000 out-of-towners annually. You can go boating and fishing or head to the sandy beaches of the Park Point Recreation Area. Right downtown, the Lakewalk attracts joggers, bicyclists, and skaters. It also provides access to the city’s waterfront pubs, ice-cream parlors, and shops.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! We are travelling the Lake Superior Circle Route, and booked 2 nights at this hotel. The hotel itself is very dated, shabby, and dirty. You are greeted by filthy carpets, and dirty surfaces everywhere you look. We were booked into a room with king bed. The bed had dirty sheets, there was a straw wrapper on the heater, and the bathroom was very poorly cleaned. There were water stains on the ceiling. We had to trek back down 12 floors in a dirty elevator, to speak with front desk and obtain a new room. We were given another room, one floor below, only to discover the bedding in this room was covered in long black hairs. At this point we booked into the nearby Holiday Inn! Radisson charged our card 926 Cdn! Which was refunded the next day. Then they charged us a 350 Cdn. no show fee! Which I have just had to call to have removed. This is the 3rd time we have had an issue with a Choice Hotel. Having just left one in Thunder Bay, also with dirty sheets and bugs in the room. Prior to that, we had a disappointing experience with a Choice Hotel in Niagara Falls. We are quite happy with our room at the Holiday Inn, Duluth. And we received s much better rate of 560 U.S. for both nights. Significantly cheaper than Radisson, with much better service and cleanliness.

Worst Stay Ever - Sleep in your car before you sleep here. I was concerned when I booked this, but it was the only room in town, and we were there for a graduation. I am a Hilton girl through and through, and this just proved to me why I should be. The hotel was filthy and filled with mold. In addition, we tried to eat in the restaurant upstairs; however, we could not as they had no staff, and the ones they did yelled at people the entire time. Looking back on it I am glad we did not eat, I am sure we would have gotten sick. In addition, they did fraud on my card.
