Indianapolis: World-Class Museums and Sports Steeped in Midwestern Charm

Though it’s known worldwide for the Indy 500 that takes place each May, Indianapolis offers much more than motor sports. A gorgeous esplanade known as the Canal Walk snakes through downtown, passing cultural institutions such as the Indianapolis Museum of Art. Nearby, the turn-of-the-century Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument marks the very center of the city with a nearly 285-foot-high limestone statue with an observation deck at the top. And farther north, the famed Children’s Museum of Indianapolis draws more than a million visitors per year.

Indianapolis has also attracted a fair share of sports. Basketball fans can watch the Indiana Pacers hit the court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Nearby at Lucas Oil Stadium, the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts play.

Terrible Place to Stay Where do I start. They advertised breakfast, restaurant and bar were closed. Elevator did not work, had to use the stairs. Heater was on in the South stairwell. Was so hot because the heater was on full tilt that it was melting the stair treads off the steps. No linen changes or room cleaning for 3 days. DO NOT STAY HERE! One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.

Water out...No one cares The water went out during my stay here. I asked about it and they said the water is out and will be fixed very soon. Hours later, it was still out and I had a toilet that needed to be flushed and I need to clean up, but couldn't. I asked (nicely I think) again at the front desk and the women rolled her eyes and said they were working on it and turned her back to me to finish eating her sandwich. I was made to feel like the Karen because I wanted water in my room. Very rude and condescending attitude. Not even an apology...just attitude. The location here is terrible as their is nothing around here if you do not have a car. I will not stay here ever again.

Do Not Stay Here! Beware! Do not stay here! The website advertises this hotel a as “brand new”, however they slapped a coat of paint on an old hotel and are trying to call it new. Find a different hotel to book at! Let me tell you about our experience. Reserved 2 nights in a room with a king size bed. Upon entering hotel, there are signs all over the place stating that masks are required by all, yet the employees aren’t even wearing masks! Fine, I go to check in. As I’m checking in, a guest states that the elevator isn’t working. Front desk employee states that it’s been malfunctioning, and it’s probably “not safe to use.” Employee also tells me that the on-site restaurant is currently not serving food. Of course, they put us on the 4th floor so we haul all our stuff up the stairs, only to reach our room and the keys are not working. Go back down to activate keys. When we’re finally able to open the room, we find 2 queen beds instead of the reserved king bed. So now we haul all our stuff back down the stairs to request a different room. They give us a room on the 1st floor. The window shade doesn’t work, and there’s electrical tape above the window holding together who-knows-what. We decide we had enough problems with this hotel, we leave and stay and a different hotel for the weekend.
