Awesome staycation spot for locals! Loved the location! We’re locals having a short staycation to go to a concert. We were a 3 minute walk to the venue. Chad at the front desk was very professional and kind…i booked using the marriott bonvoy app and notated it was my wifes birthday and she was greeted with a small gift from the hotel. Such a nice touch. Room was spacious and clean with an amazing view. 10/10 will stay here again. Perfect spot to be outside of the more “touristy” waikiki area but still in honolulu with a quality brand.

Terrible service, not worth the money, best stay closer to the beach. My family (four adults) and I are currently staying at this hotel. This hotel is not cheap, it's blocks away from the beach, doesn't have self-parking and their valet parking is $50+. I knew this in advance but was hoping to stay here due to our loyalty to Marriott-Bonvoy and positive reviews. However, our experience has been far from satisfactory. As responsible adults, we take pride in leaving a small footprint, using the room for showering and sleeping, spending most of our day outdoors and requiring housekeeping for half of our stay. Unfortunately, our initial experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, I noticed that the conditioner and body wash dispensers were almost empty, and they only provided us with three towels. I had to call the front desk to get one more, assuming that the dispensers would be refilled during the next cleaning. However, our hopes were dashed when the first cleaning team arrived. They took all the dirty towels but left us with no clean ones. We had to call the front desk again to get a full set, and the dispensers remained close to empty. The second cleaning team followed suit. They didn’t clean our room until the end of the day after we arrived, leaving the body wash dispenser empty and the conditioner running out. I had to call the front desk once more to get a body wash replacement. The third cleaning team was even worse. They left the last dispenser empty, an empty box of tissues, and only three towels. Once again, I had to call the front desk to get the missing items. In comparison, I’ve had much better service at economy hotels. This Renaissance property is the worst I’ve stayed at, and I would never recommend it. When I booked this stay, I was recommended the Hilton, which is closer to the beach and at a lower price. I think that would've been a much better choice. Even if the service isn’t exceptional, at least I would have been closer to the beach to enjoy the sunsets.

Disappointing stay despite Gold status – poor service and operational issues Disappointing stay despite Gold status – poor service and operational issues Despite being a Gold member, none of the preferences requested in advance were honored. I had requested a high floor and a room far from the elevator, but the hotel was fully booked and no effort was made to accommodate this. There was no room upgrade, no early check-in, and late check-out was only granted until 1:00 pm, again justified by the hotel being full. The hotel is new and very clean, and the facilities themselves are well maintained. However, the elevators are clearly insufficient for the size of the hotel and cannot handle demand during peak hours, causing long waits and operational problems. One night, we tried to order in-room dining and were told it could not be delivered because the elevators were not working. Later, we were told they would “let us know,” but then informed that we would need to go downstairs to pick up the food ourselves because it could not be brought up. This completely defeats the purpose of in-room dining and reflects poor planning and communication. The room was also not prepared for four guests. The extra bed had not been set up and had to be requested after arrival. Unfortunately, the service was consistently poor throughout the stay: • On multiple days, the room was not cleaned unless we specifically asked • Toiletries were frequently not replenished • Towels were often missing or provided for only two guests • Replacement towels were often brand new but unwashed, the kind that do not dry properly, shed lint after showering, and feel unhygienic It was evident that the hotel was understaffed, with employees visibly exhausted during the very busy period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve. While this may explain some of the issues, it does not justify the overall lack of service and attention to detail. Overall, while the hotel has good physical infrastructure, the service level and operational execution fall well below expectations, especially for loyal guests. Disappointing experience.

Relaxing Vacation In December, I had the chance to stay at the Renaissance Honolulu hotel in Waikiki for two weeks, and it was a very relaxing and comfortable experience. I have visited Waikiki many times, but this was my first time staying at this Renaissance hotel, and it was an excellent one. The professional team at the Renaissance deserves full credit and recognition. Despite the high occupancy, Kainoa wrote a beautiful card along with a welcome gift. Justin and O'Brien went above and beyond to ensure I had a memorable and comfortable stay at the property. The valet attendants were also very welcoming and friendly. The one-bedroom suite was very new and featured a full kitchen and a washer, which is a plus and convenient, allowing me to wash the clothes after outdoor activities or exercise. The suite has high-end kitchen appliances, a separate sitting and bedroom area. The room was very peaceful and quiet, a contrast to some properties I have stayed at in Waikiki Beach.

Beautiful hotel away from Waikiki craziness I picked this hotel because I needed a break from Waikiki but still wanted to be near everything and also wanted a kitchen and washer/dryer. The good: - The hotel and rooms are fantastic. Everything was clean and updated and felt very luxurious. - Loved having water bottle filling stations in the hallway. - The pool deck was beautiful, loved being able to order food there and plenty of places to sit. Very little direct sunlight which was perfect for us so we didn’t have to worry about sunscreen! - Location worked perfectly for us. Loved that we could easily walk to Walmart and Ala Moana. And it was a less than 10 minute uber to/from Waikiki. - Food from the restaurants was delicious and fast. We loved that the room service was brought to us in to-go containers, we didn’t have to worry about trays or dishes afterwards. The not so good: - Valet parking was not the greatest. Those valet drivers were the hardest workers in the entire hotel and never stopped running, but there’s just not much space for cars so sometimes it took a while. - Towels for the pool were annoying, you had to go into the spa to get and return them. I wish we’d just brought our own beach towels with us. We would absolutely stay here again and I recommend it to friends who are looking for someplace outside of Waikiki but still in town.
